you know if I ran a store, and a patron not only took advantage of my teller, but went back and bought me out of a product to take further advantage of my staff and my establishment, That patron would be asked to leave and not return.

It's entirely possible that they put it on clearance because they are not going to sell it anymore and the department manager did not get the sticker up.

Pricer scanned the 555 box and input the 50 round box price .. Will only effect that store ..

If the store had less than 17 50 round units in stock, the evening upload to HQ by sat will pick it up .. If not when they get new stock or restock the error would have to happen again...

The scan gun that made the error will be linked to the employee who made the error .. Will most likely be accountable .. Not financially but there is obviously an expectation of accuracy by the employer. So not just a faceless company suffers ..

I do not or have not worked for Walmart .. X banker .. This is standard large box store process .. Canadian tire Has these errors also .. Brand identification across different sizes .. Can't change the colors ...

I dunno 555 is bulk there is no 555 in 50 packs, I know for a fact that the super X HV bricks are cross referenced with the super X HV 50 round boxes. So I could see it if there was indeed a 555 brick or 555 in 50's.

Although clearance prices as a rule end in .00

Before or after the no penny rule ? Did the OP round off the price ? .. White box with Winchester on it .. I do not use Winchester but I know the 333 is the same color just the number is different ... My bet scan error .. Lot of disappointed discount seeking shoppers tomorrow ..

It is VERY hard to ban someone from a public place unless you yourself own the store and/or the land 100%.

He paid the price the computer told him he owned...so if YOUR computer in YOUR store ran up the wrong price...guess whose bad that is boss? :)

Awesome logic. I hope some day when you are buying a lot of stuff a cashier notices that something rang in for higher than it should have been and counts it as a win for the boss!

Why does the win always have to go for a sole consumer?

Consumer undercharged = woo hoo, win!
Consumer overcharged = thieving company

That'll be the day..............
Just yesterday at the grocery store, picked up a loaf of bread with 1.99 red sticker on it. At checkout cashier scans it at 3.95 and carries on . I tell her about it and I get e stink eye and the wait for the manager to come over. Manager says oh the sticker is wrong...:bsFlag:I ask her to go check .I get a second stink eye and a 5 min. wait for her to go check the shelf. She comes back and says : Someone:rolleyes: must have put the sticker there as she proceeds to try and remove it from the bag with no success as the sticker is meant to rip if tampered with. I let the comment about "someone must have put the sticker" roll off my back but at this point the lineup is long and full of people with better things to do giving her the stink eye now. By the scanning code of practice in effect here in Ontario I should have gotten the bread for free, but, I wasn't willing to waste any more time discussing with someone who clearly won't accept responsibility for their actions or their employees so I paid the 1.99 and was on my way.
If all these retailers were honest , I wouldn't have to mention anything but get the loaf of bread for free as per rules(that they agreed to), yet I have never seen one to date say that I am entitled to receive the item for free when it scans for more than listed or even mention that it scanned for more than listed. 3 out of 5 trips to the grocery I will have to deal with pricing errors (not in my favor) and cashiers who won't scan their own store discount coupons, and I'm the bad guy trying to rip them off..............As I said before I won't be losing any sleep over that.

Agreed, pfffft Walmart!

To the OP, if you want an even better deal take them back with the bill to customer service, show them it was the wrong price and they will return your money, your purchase is free. That's their policy.

..^^ This, I bought something, & it came up for the wrong price, I told them, & my purchase was FREE* .. & also WaKmart is no Angel to be defending, I try not to shop there, just do some research. I call it a WIN, now go & try to get your $3.99 x (x) amount of 555 you bought! Is called: Scanning code of practice Law. but in your case it's in reverse.
