Ruger Mark III Target... your thoughts

I got the target competition, it is very accurate and reliable was easy to find a couple years ago now not so much, love the thumb rest but the wife can't shot it since she is a lefty. Utube video is a must to clean it but watch one or two videos and it is not bad.

It's quite easy to disassemble, the problem starts when you try to get it back together.
Believe even after 25 years ownership of this pistol, I still have my issues get it back together. :)

Here's the only one atm.

I'm not very handy with the cam yet. I'll work on that.

I'll post more and hopefully improve.

I love the chamber loaded indicator.

Recommend a trigger lock and not the factory lock for the bolt.

Very nice Waterloomike. I wouldn't take it apart yet. Just wipe it down then spray it inside/out with G96. Also contrary to a lot of the stuff on this site I do recommend a bore snake. You'll be putting a lot of lead through that pistol and you don't need to disassembly it very often. A bore snake and then foaming bore cleaner along with G96 keeps them very clean and running.

For take down I do recommend a twist tie being added to your cleaning kit. The type you use for plastic bags and food (usually green). This is the easiest way to get the latch at the back of the pistol grip. A cheap tool but it sure works well.

That twist tie tip is excellent. I'm putting one in my case just for that.

How many rounds before a take down cleaning?

I have bore snakes and like them. They take everything out the muzzle end which makes sense to me.
