SKS Bayonet laws in BC?

This is true, I could hunt with my SKS i just dont want to be accosted for it, i want to be versed in the laws of hunting so i dont look ignorant. Any c.os /RCMP's out there?

Unfortunately, finding LEOs or COs that actaully know what the laws are can be few and far between and tricky. When I started shooting gophers on MD property across from the City's mall, folks (including RCMP) went WILD. They came, they blustered, they listened, they verified (registration was still in effect), they checked with the land owner, they went away. Next day, new people, same deal. Next week, new people, unsnapped holsters, beligerant attidtudes. I was shooting within 200yds of a dwelling - it was the landowners and he knew I was there. Next, I was shooting within 200yds of a dwelling (it was a restaurant across the road, not a legal dwelling), they went away. Next, I was shooting withini 200yds of a dwelling (it was a house under construction and the day was done, not a dwelling), they went away. Myself and the landowner went in to see the Detachment CO. Registered a harassment complaint. i was asked to call before I went shooting there so that the dispatch would know what I was doing and they could tell the people it was okay. Never had another problem again, and now each officer of that detachment knows a little more about the laws.
 
haha, this is so funny! I guess who ever told you to remove the bayonet just don't want you to stab the animal if you missed all 5 shots. Lol

I was once told (by a customer in Wal-Mart) that I couldn't carry an uncased rifle in my vehicle if I was also going to carry so much ammo, and why would anyone need to do that anyway?

I think the bayonet on the SKS is a perfect way to add weight on off-hand shots. Extend the bayonet, shift the weight forward of the muzze. Do I hunt with the bayonet on, NOPE. I am old and every ounce counts. And the bayonest don't fit in the synthetic stocks I need to use when hunting with a scoped SKS (read higher comb, conte carlo cheekpiece, extended LOP).

Ok for the knife prohibited part no because you need a button that opens the knife spring opens part way the spring in the sks only holds it on.

Ok for the case that would have to be on your person and under clothing or your hiding it some other way a case isn't hiding it just like when you buy it comes in a box in a bag that's not concealed as well it's more about intent.

some people take it off for the simple fact of less weight means less to carry. You don't really need it in anyway and some people look at it funny but really who actually sees people when they hunt? It all depends on were you go but there are no laws to restrict it.

There are laws on they type of ammo you use and caliber for some animal types so read the rules on size/power of round as certain things have to be taken with a bigger round and just because there is no law that say's it can't be taken with it doesn't mean you should take every animal with the round it's comparable to a 30-30 so if you hunt with a 30-30 the 7.62x39 should do the same with the right hunting ammo.
