The China North Industries Corporation (simplified Chinese: 北方工业; traditional Chinese: 北方工業; pinyin: Běifāng Gōngyè; literally "North Industries"), official English name Norinco, is a Chinese company that manufactures vehicles (trucks, cars and motorcycles), machinery, optical-electronic products, oil field equipment, chemicals, light industrial products, explosives and blast materials, civil and military firearms and ammunition, etc. Norinco is also involved in domestic civil construction projects.

Wikipedia. It's right because it says so.

Plenty of other threads on this gun, I've read them all with interest. Not much new to say until they arrive and we start firing them.

Check out the Sticky in the Red Rifles forum for some good info and pics: Before someone else asks how to mount an optic :(

North Sylva section has a pretty epic post as well..

NRR..NSR...whatever...the big question is who is gonna be the first to pony up the $$$ and have one converted to .300 Black. ;-)

If the barrel can be removed and someone can source them I'd love to convert mine to 300Blk. Actually I think I'll buy 2 of them if it's possible so I can have one in 223 as well.
I already have an AR in 300BLK so I'm already set up and reloading for it. Would love to take a deer with one.

My point exactly.

ok guys, lets get things clear up a bit.
-Fenceline / bc #1 shooter are partially correct about nornico doesn't make small arms because legally it may be true, however, I believe all the small arms are now being manufactured by its subsidized company called Norinco equipment. So legally it is a different company as norinco equip was registered in 1998. But the bottom line is we don't really care if it is Norinco or Norinco equipment Co, ltd. As long someone builds the t97nsr/t97nrr and bring them into Canada for us, we will all be happy campers! :)

I would be more inclined to believe Norincos own website which also says they are a manufacturer. Where does the info come from that they do NOT manufacture any small arms?

You calling John a liar ?;)
lol

JOHNONE said:
I say again, Norinco doe NOT make anything, they are a state marketing company

The Chinese do produce shotshells, they are simply not of the quality we woul like to dee nor are they competeive.... John

lol

We can never question 'johnone', if joneone says NORC doesn't make anything then it must be true! LOL. Could it be joint venture btw polytech (created by Chinese gov to compete/control/balance with Norc ) and norinco equipment? It is weird that Norinco would create an subsidized company just to make/marketing small arms? I do recall years ago, I was able to browse Norc website for all their listed small arms, I checked again recently, I can't even go into the small arm section. Even on the norinco equipment website, you can click on the small arms link, but nothing shows up on the page.

In the early 1980s the Chinese began using the vast Norinco Company as a state owned centralized commercial exporting entity for the purpose of exporting small arms. China North Industries Group, NORINCO (G), has over 300 sub elements including factories (157 medium to large factories), research institutes, and trading companies. It has established over 100 joint ventures and has more than 20 overseas offices and 60 branches. They exported everything from Kalashnikov rifles to Type-59 tanks and artillery which have been emblazoned with the Norinco name. Money from these commercial ventures was funneled back into the PLA.

Not at all. Just want to see some facts as to norinco NOT being a manufacturer. Everything I can find, including the "made in china by Norinco" markings on my boxes of .45 leads me to believe they do manufacture, or at least own the factory (s) that do.

Someone needs to take these chinese dudes ideas for handguards and upper receivers and run with them, but specifically for the canadian market...

Those mods all look awesome, though the last one with the magnifier is a bit off? Just trying to envision someone actually trying to look through the magnifier.
