Lever Arms sale on SKS and SVT40

As I understand it, Lever Arms does quite a bit of importing so even if you decide to not support them directly, you probably are supporting them if you are into milsurp.

I got suckered into the "it's not corrosive" spiel myself..

Heads up for folks in Windsor Ontario, my bro just picked up an SVT40 for 240$ at Canadian Tire on Walker road. Mosins for 139$. Happy Happy Happy.

Have people petitioned their CT's to stock firearms or something, or do they only offer them in red/rural areas? I'm getting a little jealous and mad seeing all these deals about people hand picking cheap SVT's at CT when the ones we have in K-W don't even stock ammo.

I feel like getting another sks just to spite people, that won't buy cheap priced nice guns, just cuz they don't get :jerkit: as customer service

I looked through about dozen or so of their SVT 40 rifles all have almost smooth barrels. They are more or less SVT 40 shotguns. That store after Mr Lever retired is going down the hill ever after. Unfriendly service, bottom of the barrel surplus rifles, semi corrosive non-corrosive ammo and add to the injury "Why do they write down PAL # for ammo sales"

Mr Lever sold his business to his accountant sure they may know how to keep the records but in this trade you need a "calling"

Their low prices are not the reflection of competitive marketing it is "Death and Agony" throws of dying company

You can buy cheap priced nice sks and svt at other places other than lever arms that don't treat you like you're pigeon excrement. Personally I like the be treated well as a customer, but some others like being treated like crap, maybe it's a masochistic thing.

But whatever its your cash, do what you want.

I agree their customer service isn't great and with many people entering the firearms world for the first time, making a purchase with them could put them off which is extremely unfortunate.

To me, if I want a cheap and fast meal where someone takes my money and shoves a tray of food at me, I go to McDonald's. If I'm going some place for the ambience, friendly smiles and good times, and generally having smoke blown up my rear by somebody pretending to care about me and my needs when in reality all they want is my money, the keg. (You pay more to be helped more thoroughly, and a tip is expected at the end of your servers service for the evening)

I really don't get why people need to feel loved and adored because they are buying something. It's like lonely elderly people who need attention so they go to the hospital, mechanic, accountant for someone to chat with. That's not to say that expectation of friendly helpful service is wrong from a business, but in reality Lever must make most of their money on SKS and milsurp ammo over anything else. Their prices on brand new guns that I might have more detailed questions about are not priced competitively most of the time anyways (I wouldn't buy a new gun there).

When you're competing with every other firearms dealer in Canada selling SKS for sales, the less time they spend trying to convince you to buy at the lowest price in the west for a cash and carry rifle the better off they are (From the owners perspective). Lever will never change with the current owner steering the ship, so why bother going on about it, and how terrible they are?

*Puts on flame/shill suit again*

I just picked up my first SKS from them the other day. Since I'm no collector, my only criteria is a pretty stock, so I picked one out, and he started writing it up, but I noticed that the gas tube guard was the birch, or whatever, and the rest was nice laminate. Well, I asked to swap it out for one that sorta matched. He wasn't nice, but wasn't rude, as he shoulda been, since I was being a bit of a pain in the ass. Can't wait to get it out to take a few 1/2 stripper clip bursts of shots. Maybe all of you getting treated like 'pigeon excrement' are really asking for it, or maybe you're just a little too sensitive... or maybe I'm a masochist ;) Lever is ok in my books.

You sound like my wife on pms :slap:

Other than seeing your PAL they don't need any info and that doesn't need to be written down.

Eric

I belive they record your pal # on the bill of sale with rifle serial number, I noticed the same thing at international shooting supplies in surrey, they did the same when I bought a rifle off them last year in sept. then few weeks ago bought target load shell crate and the guy wanted to enter my name and phone number into their computer. So annoying, I had no time to argue cuz I was going shooting, but that's bull #### for buying ammo
