Taurus pt99 9mm

I have had many Taurus models as well as Beretta. I far prefer the Taurus. The PT-99 AF or AF-D (d is the decock model, newer one) are excellent shooters and a great value. I never had a single issue with the 6-8 Taurus pistols I owned.

Ya the one I am looking at is the PT99 its about 7 to 8 years old

i own a pt 99 in stainless. love it and would never trade it for a beretta,,i,got my PT used.it is my beater gun, never a hickup in over 10 years of shooting. the safety is better placed on the PT,and screw beretta with their new "plastic" guide rod..

Ya that taurus pt99 is still at that gun shop by me and I am still considering it , it looks so shiny

Taurus employs over 3,000 people. Their revenue for 2012 was $342 million, which is up from the previous year. Considering they've been around for 60+ years, I'm not sure why anyone would be worried about them going under anytime soon.

That wouldn't be an issue for me, if I wanted one I'd buy it. If getting parts became an issue I'd just shoot it less. In fact that's why I bought a Girsan. Getting parts for my S&W 639 & 659 isn't a sure thing going forward, so I thought time to get something I can beat the crap out of and not care. As for them not going under...we could wake up tomorrow and find out a solar flare is going to turn earth to a fried pork rind...nothing is forever, not Taurus, the Sun, or the Milky Way for that matter. As you can see my attitude is anything can go under so unless it's obvious the end is near I'll pony up the cash and feel good about the repair policy.

I own a Girsan. Shot about 300 rounds through it. And have 1000+ sitting here. Love the finish. Love the looks. and the gun was cheap. Feels perfect in my hands. I also got Beretta grips just in today and love the looks. Along with a bit of colored lettering. So far from my experience, its a great gun, Only thing I would change now is lightening up the trigger a bit. I got the apex comp for my M&P and love the trigger, now its time for the Girsan :)

I saw this Girsan its the beretta 92fs style I am not to sure what the name is on it but its nice and shiny and I like and the price is right as well and where I would buy it from they can fix the gun if some thing gose wrong

They make a nice SS railed version as well.
Technically they are 92F clones....they don't have the minor FS upgrade.

Traditional rifling so lead is fine.
Trigger is standard Beretta style, and its a Beretta 92F so any Beretta reviews will be the same....

Would you like me to make a video on mine? I could show you things like the trigger and the reset and stuff. Just let me know what you wanna see on it and I could show you. I was thinking about the stainless "bright white" one that you like. I personally wanted that one at first until I saw it in person and steered clear from it. But let me know what you would like to see and I can make a video on it to show you if that helps.

Like I said, I have a Taurus PT92, a Taurus PT99 and a Girsan Yavuz Regard.

As already mentioned, Taurus bought the complete factory from Beretta in Brazil.
Taurus actually introduced a couple of improvements like ambidextruous controls.
Taurus kept the safety and decocker on the frame.
Later on Beretta copied or changed their 92 to include ambidextruous controls and moved the safety/decocker to the slide to meet US Army requirement.

I really don't look to buy something based on the availability of parts.
I would rather buy based on the mechanical reliability. While everything mechanical will fail at some point, Taurus does not disappoint.
I like my Girsan too, but it really comes down to if you like the slide or the frame safety better.

Ya sure that would be great I can learn things about the gun

what all would you like me to show in the video? just kinda how it holds in the hands and the controls of it? along with a field strip?

Ya how you would take apart the gun so I know how to take it apart , or even better how to clean it to take it apart and oil everything amd put it back together something like that
