I've got some pics of my latest build on my camera.

While I like the SKS as it was designed and personally I would never alter a non-refirb Russian SKS, I enjoy seeing the variety of customizations people do to them and I do like the look of some of them. I particularly like the timbersmith/custom monte carlo wood stocks on the SKS with a minimalist approach to the whole thing. The SKS with a nice comfortable stock and the iron sights makes a good no BS semi auto hunting rifle in a relatively compact package, toss on a good scope mount and a half decent 4-12 scope and I can even hit stuff further away than 75m.

Cool story Bro
Some of the paint jobs are cool, but nothing I would pay for. I'd rather spend my money on ammo. A flashlight AND a scope? What is the point of that? It takes a lot of cash to make a Volkswagen to look like a Ferrari, but its still only a Volkswagen. For the ridiculous money spent to make them look like an AR, you might as well have bought an AR.

An SKS looks and operates better in its original config, IMO. However, they probably look really cool for someone living in their Mom's basement.

But it retains the reliability of a Volkswagen. lol Seriously, while I love my SKS's and I will never douche up my unissued non refurb Russian, I gotta say, being 6'2" the wooden stock is like a foot too short for me. I'm waiting for the Archangel stock, but if that doesn't happen soon, I'll Tapco my ChiCom SKS.

I'm no purist and I personally give you permission to do whatever you want to your sks's, even unissued. Preferably unissued... Cuz then you know your putting money into a solid gun. But I'll say this much... I've had the Druganov stock with a bipod and I've had a tapco with adjustable stock. Right now I have four sks's and I don't have either of those stocks on any of them.
