I think all three of mine are beautiful in their own ways :)

From the top -

  • 2015 import, 1954 Tula SKS, all matching except the magazine
  • Factory 625 Norinco SKS, all numbers match. From my research, probably manufactured in 1971
  • 2002 SKS-D in an SKS-M stock, with the Magwedge rail and a 1-6 scope

I didn't include my Stormtrooper SKS from the other thread, as this one is about beautifuls SKSs... and that one is FAR from beautiful!!

Very good thread , very nice stock and modded rifles .

Funny thing , when people ask which 22 LR semi do they buy the Rem 597 or the Ruger 10-22 ?? ,,, the debate starts and usually the majority side with the 20-11 Because there is More After Market Parts to mod out the 10-22 than the Rem 597 . So taking a perfectly good 10-22 and adding Every thing possible , it's not even a Ruger any more , it a bits and pieces assembled rifle that looks some what like a 10-22 , But no one complains about this or the total cost of building a 10-22 race gun ........ a Remington 597 20 inch Heavy Barrel with a scope will shoot 1 inch or less at 50 yards with good ammo out of the box for far less than a standard 10-22 or the Target HB 10-22 ............. but it's a Personal choice , there is NO or Wrong answer just a different point of view and always keeping in mind a longer term options of what some can do with their rife in the way of improvements ( modds )

Back to topic , the SKS in all it's forms ( stock or modded ) are all beautiful , the purest believe they should be untouched , that's fine as they do have some historical importance as they were used all over the world and still are today .

Those who wish to be creative and mod out their SKS to their own design and for their own reasons, well that's Great too !

At the end of the beauty is in the eye of the beholder .

Have fun and enjoy your SKS's !!

I have both , from what now is called a laminated super grade to standard refered and a modded one , I love them all and shoot the modded and the standard grade , Great fun .

No matter what side of the fence one is sitting respect each others point of view and carry on .

Here is a couple of mine

my latest arrival is a 54r referb with the Motto stamp all matching except the mag .
