BEAUTIFUL SKS's !!

where did you get that folding stock? it looks really nice, I am trying to find the same type of stocks but no one carries them.

Not sure you can buy those anymore, they came around for awhile a few years ago along with the wood furniture for the CZ828. I bought 3 of those folding stocks from Wolverine when they had them (along with an 06 CZ)

I do wish as hell, that I would have bought more of those folders as well as the wooden furniture ,as now I spend much time making my own (the wood that is)

If memory serves ,the last time i bought one of those folders ,was about 3 years ago.

My single greatest complaint about the SKS is that the LOP is too short for shooting in a regular stance. It's a carbine and made to be that way, but if I wanted to do any real shooting with the SKS, lengthening the stock is the first thing I'd do as well.

There are some very nice, original collector SKS rifles out there, and there are also a lot of average refurbished ones. The average ones are nothing more than truck guns and gravel pit plinkers, I certainly wouldn't ever hesitate to take the rattle can to one of those.

Why did you lengthen it and paint it black  ? To each their own but the most I'd do to a surplus rifle is refinish the stock, if needed.

Dear god, that has got to be the ugliest SKS, in fact ugliest rifle, I have ever seen in my 45 years on planet earth... do they hand out awards for something like this?

I just left my dirty old 49 in the crate

I have a building full of hardwood planks and have wanted to build a couple boxs like this for my favorite toys but can't find that foam rubber you used. Anybody know where to find it. I bought a SKS thinking it was all punched out tin like a AK and found out once I owned one just how well they are built.

Call me crazy. but the SKS is a gun that should stay dressed in it's wood furniture IMHO.

I have one in a black Tapco stock, but would keep my purdy original Russian models over it anyday.

This thread reminds of me of a done-up Honda Civic with a big spoiler, loud can, body kit etc ;p

I agree probably because I am cheap. Actually broke. So I keep mine stock but there is nothing wrong with putting a costume on a classic sks.
