Hey, I'm just asking but I've got a bushy 223 that comes pretty close. Actually in the hands of a calm cool non stressed individual.....
400 yard sub 2.5. Hey I'm at freedom 55 but not free. I'm impressed. At 400 even at my prime I would have
financed 2 Macallan's for a group like that! Bolt or otherwise.

We will se what a Springfield Armory National Match M1A is capable of, after some reading, it is promising... JP.
Will try out with this one, i agree that the AR-10 is the top but it have a big discrepency, it is restricted... JP.An off the shelf M1A/M14 will be hit or miss. The M14 platform needs professional tuning and constant maintenance to maintain consistent sub moa accuracy due to the operation of the gas system, op-rod and the way the action moves in the stock. All those moving parts must cycle consitently from shot to shot. The second issue is the way the scope mount attaches to the standard receiver (LRB's M25 receiver addresses this issue). If you're looking at a high end off the shelf M1A type rifle get an LRB M25. Better still get an AR10, no moving parts attached to the barrel and fully free floating.
So aside from the fact that a bolt" Locks and seals the round", could there be an argument based on experience that
a semi with it's benefits ie speed can keep up. Yes I know about the U.S navy using M14's. Any bench rest shooters
