Robarms XCR FAQ post

Bojangles. Its a one piece armalite mount. Clears the 50mm just barely. And the prs stock works good.. can raise or lower cheek piece.

That was my guess. I have exactly the same combination, NEA adapter. PRS Stock and the Armalite mount. I have not yet put it together. My only concern is the height of the rings. This set up is a bit lower than factory. The longer LOP would be a bonus for me.

Thanks for the post!

You will be happy with the armalite mount on there. I have a couple and love them. Put a burris pepr on my swiss its a little taller and clears the rear sight. Also with the pepr you can use the diopter/iron sights right under the scope. I dont think it would work with the xcr though as the swiss factory sights sit low on the rifle.

Hi,

I did something dumb with my XCR-M and was hoping that you could help me. I opened up the receivers prior to reading the manual as I was excited after purchasing the rifle to see whats inside. Anyways, I took the 3 components out and put them back in the same order they came out. Now here is the problem, when I went back to read the manual because I figured I probably should before tinkering any more... I now cant open my receivers. When I look down my mag well, I can see the OP rod sitting in front of the bolt and carrier. And the bolt and carrier just glides in the back of the upper receiver. I have tried to move it down in place but there is a metal hinge that sticks out and thats not a possibility. Also when I press down on the throw down button (open rifle button) it starts a crack opening but I can see something holding it down just above the trigger assemble (2 silver wires size of paperclip wire). Any chance would you now how I could open my rifle back up so I could fix it? I think that that when I put the op rod and carrier in they miss aligned before I closed it. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks again.

Still need to get a Magpul MOE and UBR stock in Dark Earth, plus the stock adapter and ambi sling plate out there.

Finally got my xcr in 5.56 out on the weekend, put 20 rounds through her and went to adjust the gas valve, shoot again.. And no ejection, go to turn the gas back up and no gas valve lol I sent it down range and it was gon for good. Now I'm stuck with a 2400$ bolt action gun until my new valve gets here. I want to punch myself in the face

I lost one, too! Gotta make sure it's set in the right position.

Wolverine had one in stock and the stupid tax wasn't too high to learn my lesson.

I was thinking of giving my xcr a really thorough cleaning and I was wondering if anyone has used the boiling water method for the barrel gas setting and the other removable parts?

I have used boiling water when using corrosive ammo and just make sure everything is dry afterwards and lubed properly. Then go for more shooting!

I do exactly the same but before lubing I clean it with wipes and bore brush and solvent.
I don't use water with non-corrosive ammo, just the solvent, wipes and brush.

^^^ yes. You pull out the stock a couple of clicks, then you can fold it and still access the trigger etc. Why you'd want to do that, I have no idea.

Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks for the answer.

One more question; is it reasonably easy to put a non restricted barrel on a XCR Micro or is that an entirely different ballgame? What parts would be required?

Nope, the piston rod length is different and more importantly Canadian Firearm Classification system is not that simple.
