Aside from it's listing in the standard, has anyone ever shot or even seen this fella? It's one of the exotics I've never seen or even
heard discussed on any forum. I dare ya, no double dare ya! Tell me you've come across one of these .

Hey, it's not a "Look smart" post, and I'm not the old guy at the range who is the go to guy, although I stopped picking fights in bars in the last few weeks, months...... alright decades ago.
I remember this gun being written about somewhere and looking in the old standard catalogues, it seems it was a dedicated target gun that never quite made it. Gyrojet anyone?? Here I go
again.

I had to look it up. Only 50 made? Probably won't see one on the EE

Hey Machman, Thanks for the pics and reply, Tranter is a name I related to 19'th century revolvers . Ya know, I'm being surprised on the forum. I remember the Detonic's and Randalls that have gone ya know. Alright Detonic came back and ya da ya da but Sokolovsky....
BTW I will admit that I do remember back in the day which was not so long ago that Soko's were actually offered on some U.S dealer's lists. I ain't going back there cause most of us passed up something, but as well a lot of folks built up collections then. I really never knew anyone north or south, and alot of my folks are yanks, who ever saw this 45 dedicated target gun. I hope someone weighs in. I actually had a reply re an Astra.

I've always thought this was one of the nicest proportioned guns. I remember this being written up in a Gun Digest in the early to mid 80s. If i recall, even then it was a $3000 pistol. Wonder what they might sell for now.

Speaking of Detonics, they were an innovative company that didn't just make a 1911 in .451. Anyone seen the top break revolver?

Don't want to see this thread fade away too soon...so how about another obscure pistol,
The Semmerling LM4, .45acp, made of tool steel, It looks like an auto but is manually operated. 600+ or - made in the '80's
Semmerling-LM-4-2.jpeg

The brigadier had impressive ballistics. 230gr at 1600ft/sec. A fair degree hotter then they made the 45 win mag

I remember the Semmerling. They were actually listed in some of the the old gun rags. I think they went for 2500-3000 back then.
