STUCK - ultrasonic or SS. tumbling

I too get at least .3 MOA from shinny brass. ;) Just makes me feel better knowing it is as clean as it can be.

My rebuttal to the inside neck cases would be what about new brass and factory match ammo?

I am about 60/40 right now towards the SS media. I just like how it can get the primer pockets and insides so clean.

I'd say you've already made up your mind. Answer truthfully: why to you feel the need to "move on" from tumbling? Then order the SS kit and quit looking for justification for your *shiny* fetish.:)

Tumbling still works just fine for me.

It cleans inside and outside of the gas it's a dull color not shiny like a tumbler it's a pain getting them dry ect of course but it cleans everything. you go through allot of cleaning solution when you clean allot of brass as it can get very dirty quick. If you drop something coper in the tank say a bullet then it changes the brass color to a light coper color. Kind of funny to see that and go what the heck. They work good for small batchs and you want something clean then throw it into the tumbler and get it shiny.

To be honest, I am kinda sick of the dust.

Tumbling works I will not argue, but yes you are right, I think there is an issue with my meds. :)

Buy yourself a thumler's tumbler and be done with it. Get 5 lbs of stainless pins, will last a lifetime. You won't believe just how clean it gets the brass inside and out. Don't forget to check each flash hole for 2 pins stuck in there, it does happen, though its seldom.

I have all 3 and I now for cleaning brass I just use the pins, its the fastest way to get nice results. I'd put ultrasonic in 2nd place, cleans it fairly well but takes more time and I can't do as many as with the drum and 10lbs of pins.

I do not possess the "must be shiny, inside and out" syndrome, lol.
I have seen the "welding" that occasionally takes place between very clean brass and bullet.

I do not have time to mess with the wet methods of cleaning.
Therefore, if my brass needs cleaning, it goes in the vibratory overnight with corncob and half a sheet
of bounce.

I do not size/decap before cleaning, so flasholes are no issue.
Never had the slightest problem using this method over the past 2-3 decades.

FWIW, for the first 15 years I reloaded, I simply wiped off my brass before resizing/reloading it.

I have noted a trend to OCD in many people on here. ;) :)

Regards, Dave.

SS without a doubt.
I have all 3 systems and SS pins wins hands down.
I don't need to provide details or pics since I'm sure you've seen them already.
As far as 2 pins stuck in the flash hole.
If you throw the pins out that get stuck after the first few loads you will no longer get stuck pins since those were out of spec.

get a ss tumbler and just see for yourself.
I like ss when I have 1000 cases to do, and it's warm outside, and I feel like wasting time rinsing cases.

Stainless pin's, any day of the week.

I would get this small tumbler honestly.
The issue with the home built unit is that it's going to be too large and not convenient to use.
I could process 2000 308 cases at once..... but it's heavy and bulky.
I have a new 1/2 hp motor on mine, way overkill, oh well.

If your cases are this filthy, you need ss pins....

then, once cleaned, for maintenance, corncob is ok....

I process all my new "super dirty brass" in ss pins.

I got a thumbler on the way.

Looking at the mess in my shop(and I like a clean shop) drove me up to the wall.

Should do the job just fine.

The biggest factors to me is dust free , the cleaning of the neck and the primer pockets.

Good choice. You won't regret it. Personally, I don't mind drying them at all, some say its a hassle. Do yourself a favour and pick up some dawn or sunlight dish detergent and some Lemi-shine at canadian tire, get a large collander or one of the ready made seperators, after buying my seperator, I regret it wasn't enclosed as some are, I don't like picking up pins off the floor.
