T97 picture thread

Dump the sight and learn to shoot the irons. The only sight I would even consider would be the lowest red dot I could find. Fastfire III maybe. I'm still waiting for mine but I bought it to be a fun iron sights plinker. Keep it simple. If you want something for mounting optics on then get a different rifle. Don't try to turn the T97 into a Type 88. It won't work very well.

The optics can be useful if you have it sighted in at a common distance and know your holds up close. For example, zeroed at 50, it shoots 3" low at 20. The further out you go, the less it becomes an issue. Peeps don't work that well in dark indoor ranges.

I picked up my T97 today after 4 years and wasted $100....
I heard so much about the the scope on the carrying handle is too high and I thought so when I saw those pictures.
I think my T97 should be a iron sight only rifle... but today I tried the T97 and the CQ 10.5". The CQ was pointing as usual and as easy, but the T97 was quite different! When I tried to align properly and put the rifle naturally to my face, I'm looking 2 inches above the carrying handle! Then I force my self to align properly, the butt stock then only resting on my shoulder with 1" or bit more!?
So I asked for a mounting rail for the T97 right the way....

Yup, but if you're going to get a crappy chin weld then I'd pick a different rifle for that. Unless you can get one low enough that it works. I have other firearms equipped with scopes, red dots etc. I generally try to keep my firearms fairly close to stock as it gets expensive and I'm not into trying to turn a firearm into something it's not which usually ends up costing as much as just buying the firearm already designed for that purpose. That being said I haven't seen mine yet so it may be just fine. I know with my PS90 the red dot is high up but it does still work very well and yes I do prefer it over the built in back up sights.

Interesting. I would venture to say you probably keep your head further back on the stock and up rather than the more common nose to the charging handle approach more common with AR rifles.

I'll try to figure out a cheek rest once I get a 2" forward offset mount. I'll prototype with a chopping board and probably finish with kydex and velcro.

Magpul cheek riser for a CTR stock, mildly modified and attached with velcro. Works great in my living room. Hopefully will find if it works at the range tomorrow.

so, I just had to, always wanted a bullpup, but really didn't want to spend $3000....so how do you put an optic on that thing? (please help me, I am such a bullpup noob :))

and I can go coyote hunting with it too...LOL

THANKS LANZ!!

Myself & others are hoping someone will make a 'goose neck' mount/rail that allows the mounting of a red dot between the carry handle & front sight. I would put an EXPS2-0 on my T97 with this type of mount. Co-witnessing would be AWESOME!!!

Cheers
Jay

Eric_911, hey do you know aquaman?

That P-mag didn't fit well at all, just mostly for the picture....my LAR15 mags work perfectly, insert no problem and drop free....the mag the T97 came with and the P-mags don't work at all

I do not know aquaman.... Should I? Is he the go-to guy?

The OEM mag and LAR's work well for me, no-go for the 2 different gen PMAG's that i have. I wonder if Emags would work?

Most of my AR mags don't work, can't even insert! May be I need to buy some LAR...
