Thats some where to start.
Thanks.
If you're not opposed to semi auto you could look at Remington 750. Quite a bit cheaper then a Cooper
Maybe the SuperFuddCub has one????????

Good suggestion.Maybe I should ask this in the gunsmith forum but how costly would it be to take a nice bolt action 30/06 and turn it into a .35 whelen?
Good suggestion.
My first 35 Whelen I built before Remington even thought about legitimizing it. Still have it. Built it on a surplus 1908 Brazilian action, ordered a Shilen prefit 14 twist barrel, and took em both to my smith. While he fit the barrel, did the bolt mods, and drilled and tapped, I acquired a semi inletted Fajen stock and a Decelerator pad. I did the stock work, inleting the stock, some checkering, the pad, and installed a Beulhler safety. Not the best 35Whelen custom by a looooong shot - but it got me into the hunt with a poor man's magnum - which I wanted. No factory made em so...
I resemble that remark!I think he goes by Frankie..............![]()
