For those who are wondering the size difference between T97 and NR CZ858 folded/non-folded: T97 is essentially the same size as the 858 folded :)

First impressions: God is it small. Not light but not heavy. Did I mention small? Magazine that comes with the gun is an abortion. Not sure what to say about it. Gun looks clean and well made. I don't mind the sights, but I want a cheek riser and a rail so I can mount my H1 on there. Would also love an AFG up front but not sure how to mount it. Safety location and 180 degree turn sucks. Mag release location is pretty bad, but if I had to I could get used to it and can actually activate it really quickly. The stock is not bad. I Find it a little narrow and for now seems slightly awkward (for me) to shoulder. The Magwell is tight and you have to insert the mag in exactly right. Beveling would be nice. Overall Im actually really happy with it but I still need to get used to it, and of course shoot it (duh!)

So I mounted my Clobb mount on my little T97 with the barrel clamp red dot.

I then mounted this scope onto the Clobb mount, with a set of low rings, and it's actually REALLY low. The ocular lens does sit slightly below the rail, but high enough that you can still see the iron sights/red dot. The big thing is the scope is longer than the rail, which lets me mount it on the short rail.

I still haven't had a chance to shoot mine. My grandmother passed away over the weekend, thereby cancelling any range trips for the next week or so... although I should have lots of relatives in town, so maybe my first range trip with my T97's will be part of a big family reunion.

I was finally able to take my type 97 to the range after having it for a week. I forgot my targets and my range bag so I just fooled around with it. It was hitting way high and way right. I put 200 rounds through it and it ran flawlessly. Wil need to bevel the mag well and come up with an ambi mag release. Overall I really like it and the trigger pull is much like a CZ858.

And to be honest, I like it better than I liked my tavor.

I will repost this, In the t97 lar15 thread, page 4 I have pictures of the minor filing required to make gen 3 pmags work, not a big deal, just takes 2 minutes to sand down the spine 1 mm or so.

Avoid the Gen3's unless you want to modify them.

So many threads it's hard for people to find info sometimes.
