Le Baron Carrying Swiss K31s

What grad/quality? Has anybody seen them? Don't have room or desire for any beat up gun anymore.

This shipment was service grade rifles that were stored for decades. Most show external wear but bores vary. I saw no pristine rifles but it is possible there were a few.
Unfortunately the pristine stuff is$$$ now.

That is what I thought. I haven't seen any pristine K-31 sold by any dealer since your last shipment a few years back. sadly, I missed it. Any chance that some more of those may be coming soon?

The K31 has a shorter throat, so you really are better off with the redding K31 specific dies.

Again, not needed.
If you get more than one Swiss rifle, you are limiting yourself to one specific K31 rifle's chamber dimensions.
Forget about loading for 1889, 96/11 1911 and K11 rifles with the Redding K31 specific dies.

There is still GP11 ammo available from the last shipment North Sylva brought in and we have a large shipment due in early 2014. So there should be lots of ammo available for the rifles for the next while.

Sweet! Going up there early November wife has to get surgery so I will stop by and clean the store out. I need ammo for a K31 and a steyr M95. Straight pull bolts kick a$$.

I bought both a 1911 and a k31. I've got lee dies on order from Natchez, by dint of them being the only source I could find for any dies at all.

But I was under the impression, from gaining wisdom at the foot of the internetz, that all but the redding dies were for the older Schmidt rubin 1911 rifles?

Btw, my k31 is well worn on the outside so far as the blueing and handling marks go, but the bore is absolutely pristine. There's even plenty of grease in the cleaning kit.

I reload with Lee dies neck sizing only with hornady 150gr FMJ. They shoot just fine and dandy. I should immediately melt my dies down and buy redding I guess.

Redding, R.C.B.s and Hornady all make both K31 specific and Schmidt Rubin sized dies. Schmidt Rubin you can use for all of the Swiss rifles and K31 specific is as it says.

The difference between Lee and Redding is that the Lee sizes the shoulder quite a bit, and hence reloads can be used in more than just the K31. Only real downside to using Lee 7.5X55 dies with a K31 is that brass life could be less due to the shoulder being worked more than necessary. However, with any straight-pull, you need to be sure that the brass chambers easily, as the bolt has no camming action like a bolt action does.

Lol this is all as confusing as mud. I'll just use whatever die set I happen to actually FIND! Natchez is now showing out of stock, and the nice foreign orders rep hasn't yet gotten back to me with my order confirmation, so I guess I'm hooped there too.

And these things are too fugly to even make it as wall hangers! ;)

I shoot Model 1911 with Lee 312-155 and Lyman 311410 -both with Red Dot and both loads make 1911 my best shooter (so far).

K31, from what I hear from owners, can be just as excellent rifle.

I called the store in Toronto and inquired and I missed the last K31 by two hours.

For those interested, they mentioned they were expecting more in this coming week.

I handled one yesterday at Lebarons in Mississauga.
It's the usual condition, stock is dented and scratched, metal is good. No walnut stocks, only beech.
Nothing to write home about.
They are a far cry form the mint condition K 31s the "Shooting Center" sold a few years ago.
I got two from the shooting center, and they are like new with #matching bayonets.
