The T97.ca "FTU" or Flat Top Upper for the Norinco T97NSR bullpup rifle is a CNC machined, 6061 series aluminum, 1913 picatinny optics mount that is 14 inches long. The FTU begins at the rear most "Tab" of the rifle's rear stock, covers the original rear sight post and extends forward to cover the original front sight. It features two, 4" 1913 picatinny, removable side rails that are keyed in a trackway and bossed on the rear face for optical precision and strength. The height from the horizontal flat of the rear stock comb to the top of the FTU is 1.1". The reciprocating charging handle opening is approx. 5.5" wide and 1" high.

The installation of the FTU requires a trim of the front and rear sight post towers: a simple procedure (with instructions to follow). It is affixed in position securely using a proprietary, bolt on design that is lightweight. Parts of the programming and design for the new T97.ca FTU were taken from our M14.ca Scout Hand Guard and the 4" picatinny side rails are carried over from the Blackfeather "RS."
