Like I said I had never received a restricted weapon before and was unsure of the process. You don't expect to have to get into a confrontation with the delivery guy. I think many people would have done the exact same thing. Unless one is normally ornary. The point was to find out if this has happened to others and to educate myself and others as to what to do in the future. I certainly felt like I HAD to show my PAL to get the package at the time. In that respect, "complaining is NOT pointless".
 
last pistol i had mailed to me the delivery guy totally knew what it was...the plastic case was sealed and wrapped in black plastic but you could still make out what it said on the side, and he was shaking as he handed it to me then ran.
i think the shipping slip said the shop it came from.
and i got a stimpled grip in the mail today that the seller used a stamped label with a ar-15 on it and wrote gun parts on it... cant believe it cleared customs lol
 
He had absolutely no right to ask what was being delivered, so I would not have answered his question. The fact that he asked for a document that hasn't been valid for years, proves that he really doesn't know our present laws.
 
Sounds like the delivery boy should mind his own business !! What if you refused to show your PAL ?? He would have ran away with your gun ?? Then he is officially in the illegal possession of a firearm registered to your name. Gun theft and unlawful possesion of a firearm lol

I'd make an official complaint to the company
 
none of his business he just lugs boxes
any legal requirements are between seller and buyer
very odd you were right to complain
maybe a lil case of napoleon complex
 
To the OP, give your own head a shake, you told what the package was and then you layed down and gave him what he wanted (PAL). Why are you upset over your own actions. To afraid to say no, you must vote liberal eh...........Laugh2

Have you never made a snap decision and regretted it later? I suppose not. True I am upset about my action but I am more pissed about HIS. Fear did not enter the equation. I suppose I took it dry at first but it won't happen twice. But thanks for the support nevertheless. Leave it to someone to bring politics into it.
 
I think he is a self-appointed zimmerman type.
I see more and more of those walking around these days sticking their noses into other peoples business.

Twice this summer i've been falsely accused of speeding due to my car (looks and exhaust growl... its stock). Both were wrong and both told where to go, how to get there and what to do upon arrival.
I'm tired of self-appointed security force that seems to be growing.
 
That's pretty sketchy, my concern would be that the guy was trying to steal/memorize your PAL number for something, that and now he knows for certain you own firearms... hopefully it's nothing and just some guy trying to be a super hero delivery guy
 
I'd tell him to go pound sand, its none of his concern to know the contents or check your license.

Maybe firearm dealers should ship packages with a little camo cherry on them. ;)

Same reason we can get pistols shipped by Canada Post and pick them up at the local outlets without an ATT.
Until we open the parcel, it is just a parcel.

If you asked him for his employee ID, the name and telephone number of his supervisor. I wonder how that would have went over?
