what's good for scent elimination

Hoochie maybe the B.C. Deer have better eyes! Here it's sit still, don't move while they are looking, and don't let em get downwind, or they are GONE. For archery hunting around here you would not do well smoking...The movement would kill you. I spend most days in the bush, and they are very curious, but if they see you first, it's a challenge to shoot them humanely. Respectfully Jim

Hoochie...How many bucks have you shot, 8 points and more? Jim

Ok, here's something that a buddy and me did back in the early 80's (bow hunting)....start taking chlorophyll tablets a few months prior to hunting season, cut down on your meat intake, and then wire rags to drag behind your hunting boots soaked in Skunk scent...we had whitetail deer walk 30 yards downwind of us and not notice anything. Also wash all your hunting clothes in scent eliminating soap and never bring the clothes into the house unless wrapped tightly in plastic bags, also put a native plant in the bags (spruce branches, sage, what ever has a strong scent)...you will be intrigued with your new found cloaking ability!
You actually get use to the skunk scent after a while...oh, and don't bring those skunk soaked rags into the house unless you can afford a divorce!

ok seriously.. scent elimination products have only been on the market for what.. 10 years? and people have been hunting on this continent for how long? omg. save your money people

Actually they have been on the market since at least the late 70's

Well... I have no idea of the efficacy of this. I bought a 3 for one package of doe urine, doe estrus and buck urine from Canadian tire. I smelled the packaging and it STUNK to the high heavens. I thought thought about where to put this - a light bulb went off in my head. I put all 3 into my hunting jacket. Which will stink of deer pee... Which should attract deer right? I figure this is either brilliant or retarded.

LoL, you are gonna puke after about 1/2 hour of being in those clothes. I put a dab or two on the fuzzy bow string silancers on my excalibur one year.....ya I threw the silencers in the garbage.

Non scented soap for you and your hunting clothes.
When you get real desperate, a real wet fresh cow paddy
usually does the trick.
My dog when she was younger really enjoyed rolling in them
and I can guarantee you, she didn't smell like no canine.

I can't believe you did not suggest skunk.
I guess cow paddies work for the dog but has it become your personal favourite.
No experience here.

sounds dumb but its an observation ive made from 20 years out hunting. The friends and family who smoke consistently see and as a result shoot more game. I dont smoke but ive taken to having a cigar or 2 out in the bush with me since the smell of the tobaco is so strong it usually will mask even the most pungent human. its up to you but the few people that ive thrown this theory by have all thought about it and agree.

Years ago before liquid scents were so readily available (doe/cow in heat etc.). Wives and or girlfriends used napkins were saved up in plastic bags in the freezer and used in moose and deer season. Seemed to work. We always got moose/deer.

In my experience sometimes animals are very sensitive and scared off by human odor, other times they really don't seem to care. I have no reasonable explanation, just my observations over the years.

I don't use a scent neutralizers as our camp cook feeds us well enough that continuous off gassing would negate the use of them.
