NEW ITEM: Dominion Arms Socom 18

I am very interested, what's to keep the compensater from coming off? I don't understand what lock it in place since its reversible:s?

I would recomend a little tac of spotwelding... It wont move, you just have to decide which way you want it... JP.

I wonder what constitutes "limited quantity"?

I've wanted to get an M305 for a while now and the Socom 18 looks like a great choice. Timing sucks as I just purchased an SVT and Win. Model 70 within the last month.

I e-mailed CanAm and got a reply from Chris saying the SOCOM 18 is projected to remain in stock until late December. Great news for me, if true, as I will have funds at that point but I really doubt that it won't be sold out by that point in time.
Well Im glad about that, if theres still some in December I may have to order a couple

I wonder if one of these would fit on there:

The more and more I keep reading this tread, the more and more I just have to have one, ordering one combo now,

Ohhhhhh the guilty pleasure........

You gotta have at least one 1911.

The JT brakes are reported to be very effective at reducing muzzle climb, should be good for follow-up shots. But they are $200+ shipped, kinda steep!

I just got back from the range where I put 200 rounds through my brand new Dominion Arms Socom 18 in stock configuration. It was too foggy and rainy to see my shot placement on paper beyond 50 meters so I chose to shoot for 14 and 10 inch steel plates at 200 meters instead. I was consistently hitting these gongs and others who shot this rifle were able to repeatedly put lead on steel. All 200 rounds of Norinco M80 ball ammunition functioned perfectly and the rifle experienced no failures.

This rifle is an accurate shooter out of the box and the fit and finish is on par if not superior to any of the preceding Norinco m305s I have seen. I am very happy with my purchase.

I bet this 18" baby is loud with a Brake...Can I find a brake easily for it?
And is that Norinco amo in the deal steel core? My range don't allow steel core nor steel jacketed...

I gather that the threads on the rifle's muzzle are compatible with most M14/M1A attachments, so you should be able to find something. The Norc 7.62x51 ammo is steel jacketed...it's a no-no at my range too... :(

One question I have: Are the Norc M14s in current production? I was under the impression that there were a limited number of receivers made by the Norc manufacturers, and no more were going to be made. I'd be happy to hear this is incorrect.

How much thread is there on the barrel end? .....1/2"? I don't think there are very many brakes threaded in .592 x 32.
I'd like to get a thread adapter to convert the .592 x 32 M1A threads to the more common 5/8 x 24. There is an adapter available from Brownells.

Can I expect the barrel to harpoon out like a Norinco? Also upper hand guard with rail? I have really been wanting my first semi auto and I was sold on the T97 or tavor Going to leave it up to a coin toss) But this might be better seeing as I have a ton of .308 laying around.

How many norc m30 have you seen harpoon?

All prices are going up and have gone up, basic inflation. By this large increase is only from factory 356, the M14 series.

When are the prices going to reflect on the CanAm site and by how much will the increase be?
