NEW ITEM: Dominion Arms Socom 18

I own now 2 Socom 18 and one NM M1A... And beileve it or not, i am thinking to get another Socom now... And in the new year when they hit 900.00, i will have a large grin on my face... JP.

My guts are telling me to get one since I saw them the other day, but my brain is asking me why I need it, and trying to discourage me! My guts aren't the ones paying my bills, but they are usually right about fun things!!!

Take it this way, with a smile, when they hit 900.00, your budget will be better since you saved 500.00 in November... Just teasing... JP.

Haha same lol maybe a third to sell ? Lol great minds think alike!

What do you know of that someone who supplies the things say there are going to double in value ? That sounds like a sound damn investment to me almost like insider trading..... Lol plus the bullets will be free practically when they do..... Also you heard about the last lead smelter closing right! ?

Since lots of the people on this thread already own them, let me ask, on another thread, I was told that simple green is the best and safest way to clean the cosmoline off these bad boys, so just let it soak in that stuff for a bit and wipe it down?

Or does anyone know a better way?

Canam said it would be approximately a 50% increase, so more in the area of 750$. It will not hit 900-1000$, otherwise few people would buy them.

They have a couple of Lead smelters in Canada. Look it up on the internet

It will most likely be in th $600 range. Not higher than that or they won't sell as many

I'm going to guess that the long version will be about $650 and the shorty $700. They'd be crazy to even consider selling it for more than that.

How's the barrel indexing on these? Almost all of the Norc shorties I saw this past year were over indexed by a smidge. Hopefully these DA ones are better!

It's funny how I'm back with a Norc .308 again, but if you look at what other options are out there (XCR-M, RFB, Famae 542, and FN FNAR), this is probably still the best NR .308 battle rifle out there, value and performance wise. You can tune it cheaply and make it shoot like a precision rifle, or go all out and swap out the stocks and anything you see fit, and STILL come under less than everything I just listed.

Really hoping that the quality and finish on these DA are as good as advertised...

Barrel porting is legal right? So I was thinking instead of having the brake on reverse just behing dead weight on the front of the barrel to actually use it as a guide to porte the barrel? So instead of ported and unported you would have it ported and super ported?

What do you think? It might be cause its late and it could be a dumb idea?

Typical exaggerating retard.... Trying to justify their indebtness...

No problem with my indebtness and China's ecomomy is logarthymly getting stronger by the week... Keep that post and check how near it will be... JP.

I'm really debating on whether or not I should get one, and I have resisted the urge to buy it in the last few days because I can't see why I would want this rifle other than the simple fact that I want ALL rifles!
On one side, I always want more guns, and I've never fired a m305, so that would be nice, but on the other side, money is tight right now and I don't see the real usefulness of this gun, since I already have a remington 700 tactical in 308. I know they are different, but if I want to go punching paper or hunting, I will probably prefer the remington as it will be more accurate and light than the Norinco. So why everyone wants one and what are you using it for? Is there something special about the M14 platform that makes it impossible to resist? Are they good out of the box, or I will need to pour money into it to make it a good, accurate and reliable shooter?
Help me make a decision please, with useful facts, and not just ''BUY ONE''!!

quick moderately accurate follow up shots.. my bolt 308 sits in the safe come hunting season.

its also based on a historical platform. And they shoot nice, are modifyable beyond most guns, and are just fun and cool.

I am out of funds for now tho, so it will have to wait
