Savage apparently unable to ship parts into Canada? Confirmed Temporary only

"...cannot export due to export license issues..." The U.S. Federal government has been closed for nearly three weeks. Nothing is getting processed.
 
If its only been 2 1/2 that your rifle has been in for warranty repairs and you have already had multiple (many) conversations with savage about it...its my guess that they are just sick and tired of your tenacious attitude....for god sakes man, give it some time and i'm sure the issue will resolve its self. They warrranty the rifle and I'm sure the replacement or repairs will be done in due time, what they don't guarantee is to be in constant electronic or verb contact with everyone, every second of every day while the warranty issue is been addressed.
 
It's an absolute ####ing joke. I needed new bases for my Model 25 because one got broken (long story). They told me there was no way they could send them and just dumped me off with the Canadian vendor who was equally as useless. Told me that they were out of stock on them and were "unable to get more". Not even a single ####ing base! They said I should send the whole rifle in and they will "see what they can work up". What kind of useless #### would sell that kind of warranty and then let this happen. Just shameful.

Not the case at all. I have been a reasonable customer just wanted answers not BS. Your comments paint a much different picture.

I expect companies to stand behind their products.

Don't you?

Again would have been ok with some kind of date.

Talked to Customer service manager as Savage Canada suggested. They are looking after me directly and have offered a very agreeable solution.

Let me just say my faith in this company has been restored! I will have a new rifle home by early next week and yes it will be a Savage.

I just had to get through the red tape to get to the right person!

I did suggest they post some info on the web and also suggested give their Customer Service rep more info so they can handle calls more easily.

Apparently, they have dealt with many issues and customers because of this problem.

I wish I could say the same for Kel-Tec... my rifle has been with Vault Distribution for almost 2 months... not a f**king word from them. Nothing. It's like my Sub2K fell into the black hole of Calcutta... pathetic. I don't even want the damn thing back its been so long.
 
I didn't read this whole thread... But, Savage has been shipping me parts directly from the USA for years... I have recveived at least a dozen packages from them directly... Customer service has always been excellent in my experience.
 
Methinks sending you a whole new rifle instead of a few small parts is rather stupid but it's their money and at least you are finally getting some help from them.
 
They sent me a new recoil pad around the middle of august. I emailed them pictures of the broken tab on the old one and they emailed me back in about 8 hours saying they would send me a new one. It was sent to the house 2 doors down, returned to sender, they called me corrected the address and re sent it middle of September.

I just got off the phone with the Savage service people in the states as i was invited to call there by the savage Canadian authorized repair shop Grech outdoors
Mr. Grech told me he has not been able to get parts since the merger of Savage with ATK and does not have a date when any will be available
the customer service rep was very apologetic in that they can not send a single part to Canada, and she had no idea or indication when this would be rectified.

I have a model 14 Euroclassic in 308, bought in '06. now a discontinued item. the ejector spring is hooped and it will not eject, and the extractor fell out mysteriously - and Mr. Grech told me that the 1/8" "detent" ball will be missing.

so i need one spring, one 1/8" steel ball, and maybe and extractor spring and this lovely well balanced silly accurate gun would be serviceable again.
right now i am thinking of making a lamp out of it...................

i need to find a fire arms dealer that deals in European guns that hs a CANADIAN distributor and has nothing to do with the states.

I do not know, i am just kinda mad and sad and really bugged that such a great rifle is sidelined by such a silly little problem

and i have a sinking feeling the the Canadian market just is not that large for ATK so what would the impetus be to hurry up on the licensing for export??

ayup, kinda looks like it. and I have kept pluggin away and i got this nice note from a well respected and knowledgeable savage dealer and competitor with their (Savage) products that i found just a touch gloomy.......

this comment abuot the "overheated domestic market' was interesting. he is right - meaning that everything that is produced in the US is completely absorbed by the US of A.
we all know that. Hell, I was in a Canadian Tire store today and I was talking to the sports Dept. fella and i asked him where all the 22 ammo was and he told me that they have not had a shipment for over 5 months, and it has not been for lack of trying.
and the question of why would any company go to the expense and trouble of obtaining the ability to legally export product to such a wee li'l place like Canada? there really is no need and from a strictly business point of view i would have to agree.
Here is another one for you: I was talking to yet another contact I have in the firearms wholesaling industry in the lower mainland of BC here, and there is another Phenomena going on: retail hoarding. My friend told me that not only is product difficult to obtain up her because of the phenomenal sales occurring south of the border due to hoarding, but there is phenomenal sales occurring here to retailers who are stocking up (hoarding) for if there is a complete shutdown of product flowing from the south to the north. so his particular shop has been running around like crazy filling orders for retailers. the other comment my friendly wholesaler fella made was that he has never witnessed such an effective gun sales agent as Mr. Barrack Obama "bless his heart". i did have to laugh at the irony of that one.

Sorry I don't buy the ATK story, ATK has been running savage,s sale in Canada for at least the last 4 years that I know of.
if its .22 cal or 223 then all of those guns are put togeather in Canada, whats not made hear is imported from china..
so parts should be a plenty
as are most for the china made axis and edge parts are shipped to Canada then shipped south.
you could always try brownells for the parts.
