Best non restricted black rifle for 3 gun

A Tavor would be "okay"....but just that, they are not the most accurate of your choices in the NR Black gun category, but a Tavor should be okay
SL8's are NR and quite accurate, some don't like the look.
XCR is a decent contender, it's also not the most accurate of choices, but again would do just fine if you did your part.
Swiss Arms are quite accurate for a NR black gun, but everyone will say to avoid it until the storm clouds clear. Can't say I blame them. ..
A Benelli MR1 would be decent as they can be very accurate, but there an ergonomic nightmare, and ammo specific, some don't like the look
A decent AR would be best, but of course that isn't non restricted. For the price of the more accurate NR black guns, get a t97 for your NR pleasure, and a decent AR for your 3 gun.....Roughly same price as a tavor, and the AR will be a lot more accurate during competition
I don't have my RPAL and don't plan on it for a little while. I wouldn't mind an xcr. I've just heard so many bad things. I would want my barrel to come loose in the middle of a competition

Well no, but if you show up to one of those competitions with a pistol there will be some questions on how you acquired it. And individuals with stripey pants will probably get involved. I will be honest, for those kinda shoots ars are pretty hard to beat as an option.
I am also looking for a nr black rifle for hunting coyotes. I don't see the point of putting all that money into an ar when you can only shoot it at the range, (just my opinion) if I could take it out and blast coyotes though I'd be all over an ar. I was thinking of an xcr as well but I haven't done much research yet. What seems to be the problem with them?
They use a lot of screws in the gun that come loose and you have to loctite it. And the barrel always comes loose because it's also held in by a screw. I don't trust loctite. But it sucks because it's so damn ###y. And the ergos are probably the best on any rifle in my opinion.
Very expensive, in the past had major reliability issues, which some claim have been resolved. As for accuracy I can't comment, depends on your skill and ammo I guess. why not a csa vz58? Or a mini 14? Or a relatively inexpensive bolt action instead?

....none of those are black rifles....
Also neither is a very accurate choice when compared to some of the other choices
i just acquired an XCR and i love it. accuracy is as good. well as it will get with a semi auto black rifle. and as long as you get one of the newer models with the improvements you shouldn't have a problem with it. also the trigger is better than my AR

This is not so.
The XCR is a fine rifle, and from what I have seen, the problems encountered by some of the first users must have been fixed, because I have seen them perform quite admirably over the years, all this being said the SL8, the MR1, and The Swiss Arms, are all more accurate NR guns.
And again, most AR's will out do those.

They had one bolt that came loose, the barrel bolt and the newer ones are said to not have this problem. 90% of "problems" you hear about them are people that don't/haven't owned them or are talking for their "friends" guns. The newer models pretty much have all the bugs worked out and you don't hear many problems with them. I had one and it worked flawlessly, it was a really nice gun and I will probably buy another down the road. The only problem is they are pretty expensive, but every decent NR gun is so that is negligible. If your worried about it, get a newer model with the fast stock and it should be good to go.
A XCR barrel bolt will never loosen on a new or old gun if it's put on with a little loctite blue and torqued properly. The rifle gets a bad rap for the barrel bolt loosening up only because of the limp-wrist owners who didn't install it correctly. (Usually first time owners )

I have used an xcr, an sl8,a swiss arms, a mini 14. Now I have a Tavor. Compared to the Tavor, all of these other guns are FEEL a lot heavier and ARE much longer.
The Tavor is by far the easiest to carry, all of the weight is in the back, you can hold it to your shoulder one-handed all day. The accuracy is as good as any other black rifle I have owned. The trigger is not as good as an AR, and the ergonomics take some getting used to, but overall, I am glad I went with a Tavor.

You can get a hand gun for these competitions without a RPAL, it just has to be a antique.
I'm actually really happy you said that. Cause it's definitely the rifle I want. I want to like a tavor but I was reading up on the fs2000's that kaboomed. Some guys were pretty hurt. I don't like the idea of resting my cheek right next to the chamber. But still an awesome rifle from what I've read.
