NEA 7.5" CCS AR15 in 5.56 and 12.5" 300 Blackout! New Models!

I almost purchased a 12.5 barrel yesterday, but after reading a lot, it seems that there is non need to go that long, perhaps a 10.5 inches would be perfect (I find the 7.5 too short). Most of the people on forums says 9 is perfect, but since we can't have silencers it's not going to run as good. If there is in fact a can coming soon, I'll wait to see that for sure. A little more kick from my AR would be nice!

Freakin LOVE how that looks. :D Now all they need to do is offer this configuration in 300 Blackout.

does look pretty nice

I would never think if having a .223 rifle with a barrel shorter than 14 inch , it defeats the purpose of a light weight high velocity varmint round that was designed for a 20 to 26 inch barrel . But other heavier slower rounds like a 7.62x39 or 300blk behave much better in short barrels . Pistol rounds will out perform most all rifle rounds in a barrel under 10 inch or under, wasting powder for nothing just get big fireballs . If i had to use a rifle with a barrel under 10 inch i would want it chambered in 10mm

I disagree. The BLK will do several things that a pistol round cannot. The BLK can easily penetrate soft body armour, it is effective out to at least 300 yds even from a short barrelled carbine and it can quickly swap from heavy subtonics to lightweight supersonics in order to fill many different uses.

Pistol caliber SMGs have had their day in the sun and been overtaken by the rifle caliber carbine. I am a huge fan of the SMG but it has been supplanted by better options and left relegated to only a few specialized roles.

I don't know how many times I commented to NEA that I'd like to see a 9" 300BLK with the CCS.

To my way of thinking, that's the sweet spot for several aspects of a close protection gun.

I have a 7" 300 BLK which works extremely well. I don't see the need for the longer barrels for close in work.

Keep up the good work on bringing in the cool stuff. When my wife kicks me out, I'm coming to live at the shop. Don't worry, I'm a great coffee boy. :)
