I believe the law here in NB is that it cannot be hidden. It doesnt have to be displayed but your not suppose to hide it either. I think basically it has to be easily seen if stopped by the rangers is what the laws means.
Myself I like to put in the back of the truck and close the tailgate but I could care less about whoever sees the deer I legally harvested.

I like to keep my game clean deer generally get gutted and skinned then put into a full size game bag in the jeep is a tarp for the floor.
That's a pile of crap. I have never seen it here nor is it "traditional" to display your deer in Ontario. Perhaps in QC and NE but certainly not here.
Our guys don't but not because we don't want to offend - we don't give a rats ass about that - we don't want the deer covered in dirt and road salt.
Yes it is traditional in Michigan - everyone does it.
Only a chevy driver would strap a deer to the hood of his truck instead of using the box

Seems like with most things Quebec doesn't care what people think about such things. We as a collective group should adapt the same policy in regards to our sport.

Maybe depends on where you are in Ontario. My uncle used to strap the deer to the front of his Cordoba. That was a lot of years ago though, though it wouldn't surprise my redneck cousins still do it
. I wouldn't normally do this for deer. When the time comes that we get a moose, I very well make sure the rack is visible in the back of the truck bed as we motor down the 401

I think the habit of straping big game animals on the outside of a vehicle started there, back in the days, not everybody had a pickup truck and many hunters just used their cars to bring the animal back home.

I saw on tv a hunting show and they were hiding the rifle as much as they can, so much that I couldn't tell what rifle the hunter was using. At some point, they said "we had to cut some scene because the rifle had a mechanical failure" Really? How about SHOWING US what the failure was and taking the opportunity to give a safety lesson? Nope, hide it and show us the beautiful flowers instead! And the kill cam was so off that you barely see the moose going down. I wouldn't hide my game when you have people proudly walking naked on the streets during a parade. This is pure liberal double standard. To see a game on the back of a truck looks normal to me because people were doing it. I don't think this is unethical, but a form of pride.
