Displaying your kill *Quebec*

I remember being in Chibougamau on a geophysical job a few years back , there was a white 80's pontiac running around with a fork horn bull moose head on the hood and red christmas lights in the eye sockets that illuminated when he applied the brakes. I laughed my a_s off.

I believe the law here in NB is that it cannot be hidden. It doesnt have to be displayed but your not suppose to hide it either. I think basically it has to be easily seen if stopped by the rangers is what the laws means.

Myself I like to put in the back of the truck and close the tailgate but I could care less about whoever sees the deer I legally harvested.

It's traditional in Quebec, Ontario and the New England states to display the deer on top of hunters vehicles...........I've even witnessed it in Alberta multiple times, however; not as common as the east part of North America.

That's a pile of crap. I have never seen it here nor is it "traditional" to display your deer in Ontario. Perhaps in QC and NE but certainly not here.
Our guys don't but not because we don't want to offend - we don't give a rats ass about that - we don't want the deer covered in dirt and road salt.

Yes it is traditional in Michigan - everyone does it.

Maybe depends on where you are in Ontario. My uncle used to strap the deer to the front of his Cordoba. That was a lot of years ago though, though it wouldn't surprise my redneck cousins still do it :).

I wouldn't normally do this for deer. When the time comes that we get a moose, I very well make sure the rack is visible in the back of the truck bed as we motor down the 401 :).

I think the habit of straping big game animals on the outside of a vehicle started there, back in the days, not everybody had a pickup truck and many hunters just used their cars to bring the animal back home.

Yeah, we are our own worst enemy. Hunter ed courses teach us to be ashamed of hunting. It's bizarre.

EXACTLY!!!

I saw on tv a hunting show and they were hiding the rifle as much as they can, so much that I couldn't tell what rifle the hunter was using. At some point, they said "we had to cut some scene because the rifle had a mechanical failure" Really? How about SHOWING US what the failure was and taking the opportunity to give a safety lesson? Nope, hide it and show us the beautiful flowers instead! And the kill cam was so off that you barely see the moose going down. I wouldn't hide my game when you have people proudly walking naked on the streets during a parade. This is pure liberal double standard. To see a game on the back of a truck looks normal to me because people were doing it. I don't think this is unethical, but a form of pride.

Wait.. You guys don't prop the head of the beast outside of your truck box and do a victory lap around town?

Hi
You have to be careful crossing provincial boarder, both Ontario and Québec do not tolerate full body when crossing, because it may carry mad cow bacteria. It goes with some Western provinces.

Classless.

Same people who'd lose their minds if a fellow firearm owner wore a Justin Trudeau t-shirt don't bat an eye at actions that make us all look like mouth-breathing buffoons. How ironic.
