Absolutely ignorant

im not gonna take sides on this one and i dont hunt, but one thought comes to mind, if you follow someones trail, you know the danger area, but bush bashing the same direction off the trail might come across as more risky due to some hunters inability to identifly the target and shoot 1st, flanking a position would make me nervous. im gonna have to assume deer wouldnt follow a human trail and a hunter would knw this, again, im curious to why someone would do this.

You know it isn't yours, but you are mad at six people for walking on a trail on public land?

Yeah I am. What's it to ya? Just because they're allowed to, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. And if it interferes with my lawful hunt, then it in fact does become illegal. As hunters, they should know this. You're one of them, aren't you?

You really need to stop being "that guy"

i agree with op for the most part sounds like he got up earlier then the rest so hes not the lazy one it sounds to me..... hope you bag something guy good luck

Wow!
The right, courteous thing to do is obvious. People can be selfish, we are seeing that!

I will continue to hunt with courtesy in mind. Always have, always will.
I see it as first come first serve.

Thats one of the reasons I hate hunting areas anywhere near towns or cities!

Never forget though, even though its selfish, it is still thier legal right... To a point.
I would not Want to have to push this kind of situation into a "interfereing with a lawful hunt charge"! It would create allot of Bad feelings!

Making a track in the snow doesn't make it yours either.

He didn't say it was his, see the thread title. I agree w/ the OP, it is ignorant to mess w/ a guys hunt. It is tough enough to carve out time and funds to hunt and enjoy the outdoors, sucks to have people mess it up on you. Like getting close to someone elses boat while out fishing....lots of lake, stay clear, just the decent thing to do IMHO.

Nothing really. You're mad, I'm not. Your hunting is affected, mine isn't. When the same thing happens next time and the next you will be mad again. Eventually you will realize that the world isn't going to change, and you need to adapt to get what you want.

I hunt private land for the most part, because I have found that on close and accessable public land being forced to share is a fact of life. The difference is that instead of continuing to fight it I sought out alternatives. You might too when you're tired of getting mad. Alternately you can stay mad. Your choice.

Good luck having charges laid on someone for walking down a trail. Did you hang your stand on a trail?

I like being "That guy". It's worked out well for me.:p

Access to private land is a luxury that not all of us have

And no, my stand was not on any trail. The only reason they found it was because they followed my fresh footprints in the snow.

Depends on the circumstance. I just found out the group that was following me was likely from a nearby crown lease hunt camp, and probably intentionally trying to drive me out of the area

So...maybe they thought they owned that piece of public land that, in fact, you apparently own.

Had guys fell a 4' diameter tree across a road to a new cut block just after I left the area from my morning hunt. They did it right at a spot where there is a high bank on either side of the road so the tree broke and wedged itself in real good.

Something wrong with people these days I think, must not be very smart either to cut one of the old growth the loggers had to leave, if they get caught they are looking at criminal charges.

Think I'm gonna head down to the lake, dig out the old binoc's, see who's found a hot spot and pull my boat right along side, I hate stittin still so I'll probably troll circles around him all day. If the fish stop biting there I'll head over to the next fishemans spot.... Hope none of mind the fact I like to tap my feet and play drums on the seats to a good ole dire straits tune... Money for nothin....

That's pretty disgusting, make sure it's reported.

Move to the Yukon, you can literally hunt for days maybe even weeks without so much as seeing another human track let alone them that would have made 'em. We have the largest moose in the world, the greatest number of caribou in the north (okay that's a bit of a stretch, but we have lots), bison running around like rabbits, the prettyist sheep in the world and gobs of 'em, stone and dall, mountain goats that have never seen a man (except me if they are really old), mule deer and elk on draw and more black bears than the prairies got geese. You can shoot a grizzly every 3 years, and there's one behind every 10th tree. Our lakes are so full of lakers that you can just shovel 'em out, no need for all that fancy rod and reel stuff (and the shovel is going to get a lot of use in the winter too so it's a great investment and much cheaper than a rod). You can ATV, snowmobile, argo anywhere your heart desires with out designated trails and speed limits. We have ptarmigan in flocks that blot out the sun for 3 seconds at a time, 10 spruce grouse in every tree and enough ruffed grouse to feed the Nepalese army. I think there's only 2 months of the year that you can't legally hunt SOMETHING, and that's when shovelling, er I mean fishing, the lakes is in full swing. Wages are the highest in NA and the cost of living is next to nothing (okay that's a downright lie) and the jobs are every where (that's not).
The point is if you don't like your situation change it, I did 35 years ago when I moved here and it's been fantastic to me. Did I mention I have a Ferrari and an airplane?
OP you are obviously a young man, do what I did and follow the good hunting.........................

It's funny to see the hunters you are complaining about here defending themselves. Lol.
