Retail Price Dropping on T97?

looks like a type ATE malfunction you usually see in AR's.

How many rounds through the gun so far? Has it jammed this way before?

Why would it drop? People are buying it up left right and center at the current cost. They will drop the price when the demand drops. Steyr isn't bringing the aug, and even if they did that would be a $3000 rifle. If the G36 that's getting announced in 2014 is classed non res it will probably still be around 2500 if not more.

The only nr semi auto I can think of that comes close to threatening the t97 in price is the mini14 the csa vz and the benelli mr1, and none of them are the supercool bullpup layout. So why drop the price if people still want one at the current cost? I'm surprised they arent asking 1500.

A few hundred rounds. To be honest, I have so many pics of partially submerged bullets and crinkled cases, that they don't even seem noteworthy anymore. This one stood out as 'special' because it actually managed to drop the primer face below the bolt when it attempted to cycle.

Wow!!!!...so much hate for theT97. All I can say is I love mine, it's reliable as hell and fun to shoot. Go ahead and pay 2 or 3 K for some other NR bullpup that does the same thing..I won't judge you.

it does the same thing, all guns do...they go bang....well not the t97 as much. but the 2 or 3k is for quality, not barrel gouges and a 6k service life. a 2 or 3k gun would be getting nicely broken in around 6000 rounds. that fact that norc says it has a 6k service life means they know its a #### product.

The good new is, for guys like me, that we'll spend so much time massaging, tweaking, retrofitting, massaging (again), praying, cursing and stamping our feet, that we'll be old and feeble before we ever manage to get 6,000 rounds out of the barrel!

Ssshhhhhh what are you on about? I am selling my core15 so I can buy a norc ar. And I sold both my HK pistols so I can have that wonderful norc 1911. Hell I am even willing to ditch my ultimate bulldoge rifle if it means I can have a type 97. Norinco for the win.

exactly, if you shoot it past 6k it is just one big I told you so when it falls apart. (notice how is said "when" and hopefully nobody gets hurt)

yeah, when I set my RFB next to the 97 I am really in awe by it's presence, I'd ask you to trade but you would probably want cash on top of my RFB and I just simply can't afford it right now:rolleyes:

Youd have to give me an rfb i wouldnt even waste my money, ill throw my t97 in the landfill before i traded you

I have a t97 that has worked perfectly. I'm using pcv50 and lar with orange followers for mags. I can empty the mags as fast as i can with no problems at all. Very happy with it. Yes it has it's design quirks but it works. If you don't want one - don't buy one. If you do, get one....pretty simple. I have many Norinco's along with Sig, browning, S&W, Rem, Win, Sav, and everything inbetween.....i have only met a few guns i didn't like...and the T97 isn't one of them.

This^^^^^^^^^ well said.

Going back to the actual subject of price drops lol.
I do forsee the price probably going down to about 850 new and 700 or less used.
As someone said before simple supply and demand we have seen them go down on EE from the outragous 1100 to now around 900 for one bnib.

Hilarious visit to my local dealer today. When he heard of the troubles I've been having with my T97, he was on the phone with N.S. right away, saying "What the hell is going on?"
Their response; "First we've heard of it. Everybody else LOVES them!"
Laugh2 Ya just gotta give them points for chutzpah, if nothing else!

(Set to 'Row Your Boat' music)
Row, row, row your bolt, until the cartridge seats.
It might go click, it might go bang,
It might just F'in seize!
