looks like a type ATE malfunction you usually see in AR's.
How many rounds through the gun so far? Has it jammed this way before?
Wow!!!!...so much hate for theT97. All I can say is I love mine, it's reliable as hell and fun to shoot. Go ahead and pay 2 or 3 K for some other NR bullpup that does the same thing..I won't judge you.
it does the same thing, all guns do...they go bang....well not the t97 as much. but the 2 or 3k is for quality, not barrel gouges and a 6k service life. a 2 or 3k gun would be getting nicely broken in around 6000 rounds. that fact that norc says it has a 6k service life means they know its a #### product.

Ssshhhhhh what are you on about? I am selling my core15 so I can buy a norc ar. And I sold both my HK pistols so I can have that wonderful norc 1911. Hell I am even willing to ditch my ultimate bulldoge rifle if it means I can have a type 97. Norinco for the win.
start poking them through with a stick to get your moneys worth lolThe good new is, for guys like me, that we'll spend so much time massaging, tweaking, retrofitting, massaging (again), praying, cursing and stamping our feet, that we'll be old and feeble before we ever manage to get 6,000 rounds out of the barrel!
exactly, if you shoot it past 6k it is just one big I told you so when it falls apart. yeah, when I set my RFB next to the 97 I am really in awe by it's presence, I'd ask you to trade but you would probably want cash on top of my RFB and I just simply can't afford it right now![]()
I have a t97 that has worked perfectly. I'm using pcv50 and lar with orange followers for mags. I can empty the mags as fast as i can with no problems at all. Very happy with it. Yes it has it's design quirks but it works. If you don't want one - don't buy one. If you do, get one....pretty simple. I have many Norinco's along with Sig, browning, S&W, Rem, Win, Sav, and everything inbetween.....i have only met a few guns i didn't like...and the T97 isn't one of them.

Ya just gotta give them points for chutzpah, if nothing else!
Hilarious visit to my local dealer today. When he heard of the troubles I've been having with my T97, he was on the phone with N.S. right away, saying "What the hell is going on?"
Their response; "First we've heard of it. Everybody else LOVES them!"
Ya just gotta give them points for chutzpah, if nothing else!
(Set to 'Row Your Boat' music)
Row, row, row your bolt, until the cartridge seats.
It might go click, it might go bang,
It might just F'in seize!
