My first Kimber

I haven't heard of those ever failing so they are fine. I replaced the plastic MSH on my Kimber with a metal one just by principle.

I've never heard of any problems with them either, but I may still pick up a metal one, I had one from Dlask on my GSG that I really like, I may order another one.

I found the same thing with my Colt Delta... 10mm brass scarce & expensive when found. So, I had a .40 S&W barrel fitted to my Colt so now have access to all the free once fired .40 S&W brass the local munie cops leave littering the local ranges to feed it.

Only use full house 10mm for those 'special occasions'...lol...

NAA.

I just order some Starline brass, price wasn't to bad at $110/500

Congrats! Sweet looking 1911. I can't recall the last time I've seen 10mm ammo.

I picked up 400 rounds at my local shop in Hamilton, I think they still had 10-12 boxes left.

Yes....VERY beautiful Kimberly pistol. 10mm Auto is a super powerful round, and very expensive too.

Congrats though.....amazing Kimber. Maybe I'll see you at Silverdale on day lol...love to try it ;)

Have fun with it.

Although I'm am always more than happy to let people shoot my guns, this isn't likely to happen, I'm done with Silverdale.

I've been getting tired of the ever increasing rules and regulations. To top off my frustration I had a guy in the store today tell me I couldn't transport my new revolver in a pistol rug, I really think if you work at a gun store you should know the ####ing transport regulations and what is and what is not an acceptable way to transport a handgun.

Lol....oh I feel ur pain brother.....the range officers at Silverdale and others there, have ticked me off too....some dumb-@$$ individuals I've ran into.

Some rules are in place, cause other stupid people have ruined it for others, but others I can't understand why.

One lady told me.....while people are down range looking at targets at 200 yard range, I cant view my targets with benocks, but I must have eyes and ears on....while range is safe, and nobody is shooting....???

They always seem to bug you, peering over your shoulder .....like....how about they just f@$& right off.....I came to enjoy myself, not be pestered by mickey mouse range officers.

...I'm also a member and know exactly what you guys are talking about. Last weekend I was told that even though I'm a member with a gate pass, I can't use the action range unless an RO is there with me!? Couple that with the fact that they have totally screwed the metric rifle range (100M only, the other berms are gone. Now where is a guy to have BP fun!?) and the incessant female range officer and her ever changing rules and contradictions that for some reason she feels compelled to tell me about and I've about had it as well. Where else in Niagara has a good range with some relaxed leadership? (Gawd I miss Seth)

...errr, Nice gun outlander. One day I'll own a Kimber.

Ha ha ha....ya, that fat cow woman ....every time I see her, my anxiety level increases lol...gotta break for a smoke.

And ya, I miss Seth too. He ran that club. They're still couple great guys there....couple in the gunshop....Dillan the kid was cool too, but he ain't there anymore I think. He left when Seth passed.

The 100/200 yard range with steel gong is great though....the AR & M14 need room to run, and an indoor 50 yard range has it's limits....especially when using a precision bolt gun, 200 yards is great.

I'd love to shoot at 500-700 yards though....can't find anything near Golden Horseshoe or Barrie/Orillia area. Guess you gotta go to private farm land or something. I'll see is some farmer has groundhogs that needs dispatching or something eating his crops....would be nice to set up on a nice elevated grassy hill, looking down on 600 yards of land, with my Rem700 .223 Tactical heavy barrel firing Hornady 77 gr. BTHP Match ammo.....Bushnell Elite 4-16x 50mm scope I have mounted on it is perfect, I love it.

Anybody know a place like that???

...the time before that she tells me that the range has banned rapid fire in the action range. I couldn't hold my composure, and asked her why in the he11 bother with an action range if you can't dump a mag into the targets!?

This is kind of stuff is exactly why I joined the East Elgin Sportsmen's Association this morning, very nice range, indoor range, great club house and they even have running waterw:h: No more porta-john for this gun nut.

Thk, brother.

Quite a drive though, is anyone aware of a similar set up in Niagara?

Took me about 80 minutes, would have been a little less if I didn't have to drive through a snow storm to get there.

As for other clubs in Niagara, there's Maple Leaf Marksmen and Revolver Club, but I'd stay away from them, they do not allow restricted rifles or prohib handguns on the property, they might as well put up a sign at the gate that says "FUDDS ONLY"

There's also Pinecrest Gun Club, great group of people there, indoor only. Handgun and 22 rifle only, no steel core/jacket and no jacketed/plated, lead only.

Nice pistol there OP!! She's a beauty!!
Been looking for a 10mm 1911...not too many to choose from and those seem tough to find.

Looking forward to a range report..

Funny SD stories....common sentiment these days ;-)
