If they put a HK416A5 barrel and handguard on the MR556/MR223, there will be no need to even make a semi G36.
They are going to have a tough battle with the G36 semi against the ARX100, FN SCAR and TAVOR if they are thinking anything over 2000 in MSRP. People will pay stupid money for a HK416 like MR556/MR223, but I have my doubt they will do well in the saturated market of new 3rd Gen 5.56 rifle with a gen 2.5 design. The Gen 3 5.56 market is going to heat up soon when CZ805 and Radom MSBC comes on line in 2 years. The semi G36 is too late even if HK can manage to push the first one out of the door in the 4th QTR of 2014 with super human effort.

just like the previous SL8 and mew HK243 is not a G36, the HSG41 is not a G3, If it were to be considered a variant well that is entirely up to the RCMP
If it is deemed a variant and prohib we will have problems with the HK243 as well because it uses G3 internals according to the posts in the thread on HK pro

We will have to wait and see what the RCMP does I guess, these new rifles are all using parts from their current production lines that are prohib, hopefully HK had our retarded laws in mind when they built or they simply don't care about the northern north american market.
