Why would somebody do this (movie scene)? What was the director/armorer thinking?

If you want to see gun blunders watch bad boys 2 they never change the mags in their pistols even after firing 100+ rounds. Their mp5's or whatever they are shoot thousands of rounds with one mag.

Reminds me of the time when I was robbed at gun point!!! The guys followed me from the money changers in a car to my dad's office, when I got out they pulled over, one of them got out and racked the slide on his handgun and walked over to me and racked it again! Hence the round popped out and rolled under my car...... I almost laughed when he crawled underneath my car to find his round. But this story is quite old now and from another part of the world.........

Watch last years walking dead season finale.

I KNOW RIGHT?

I point that out to people and they just look at me funny...

I am pretty sure "Locked" Just means that your bolt is locked back, or that your safety is on :D You wouldnt win many gun fights like that.

he definitely racked the slide cause you can hear a 'plink' of the round hitting the ground a seconds later before he does that last 'click' while its showing his face.
maybe its his trademark, leaving a good full case with his fingerprint on it?

you wanna talk about a TV show that totally misses the mark with guns.
i just finally sat down and watched the entire series of Lost.
after watching all those episodes it drives me crazy that they will say "lets go and fight the others!" and everyone would load their guns.
yet when they got to the fight everyone would make a show of re-loading their gun.
if im going pull a gun its gonna be locked and cocked before i run into the fight!

it wasnt bad the first couple times, but after like the 100th time it started to drive me nuts!

I laughed my ass off at that scene too! Awful , just awful. Buuuut, since the show is about zombies and not about realism, it is what it is.

yep. Why "Cocked locked and ready to rock" Has never been a term I like, if a fight is coming, I think disengaging the safety would be step number one :D

To clarify "Lock and load" I always assumed that meant guns that take clips, lock the bolt back, insert clip.

And thanks, I kind of already knew what cocked meant ....

I knew that you knew, you know?
Anyway, lock and load is actually reverse order (load, safety on) but load and lock doesn't sound quite as cool.
