I posted this in the ammo forum, but there isn't much traffic there. Does any one know if these are available in Canada? Want to try them out in my KSG. 25 rounds! Hell ya!

I don't think anyone sells these in Canada. Too bad as I'd love to try them.

Did some reading on them a year or three back and apparently they will not function reliably in many guns.

I have tried them in three different 870s and was not impressed. They're too short and end up flipping about when launched from the mag tube to the shell carrier. I too thought it would be cool to have a crapload of shells in my short shotty, but with a successful feed rate of about 50 percent, it's a fun (when it worked) but aggravating (when it didn't) novelty and not much more. It's not a shotgun/round combo I'd want anyone to depend on in a "social" situation.

I'm interested as well. So far only had success with looking online, all of the shops that do stock it are south of the border as far as I can tell.

I emailed aguila a week ago about who their canadian distributer is but never got a reply. I'm pretty sure they do sell ammo in Canada (22lr at least) ill send another one today and see what happens.

I looked at their site. No mention that they export anything.
"...sure they do..." Aquila is no longer Remington ammo made in Mexico. Crying shame too. It was good ammo.

As I recall someone was selling boxes of them on the EE a few years ago...but they are far from cheap. Pretty expensive actually.

When you can buy boxes of cheap shells at CT or Wally World, that actually work in your gun, why bother with these?

My God, just imagine if they made a bullpup double magazine shotgun but full sized. You could have like 50 or 60 of these shells in a pump action!!!

I have a few boxes of them from who knows where...some random milk crate of ammo from an auction my dad was at I think.

Fun for beginners in a single shot or double barrel, don't feed well at all in anything else.

I found a box randomly at the gunsmith on the "jackpot" shelf. I haven't shot them yet.

Despite my reservations about feeding they have so far cycled perfectly thru a few of my 870's. I tried to short stroke them and otherwise get em' to fail but they work.
Would I use em' in the field...no. I won't ever have complete faith in them in a repeater and they have no benefit in a double.

A custom built pump with an ally receiver set up to reliably handle the lil buggers with a ~12in barrel and full length mag tube would be a pretty damn kewl setup for a lightweight slug gun...pack/fishing/working bear gun....very light/short with practical rd capacity and still a barrel length resembling a shotgun vs a snub nose revolver !! lol

This of course would stray into very much one off custom gun territory....with all the limitations of same....parts avail/compatibility with other guns...and PRICE!!!!

O yea ! These mini shells are great. I have run them in my 8.5 grizzly, defender and moss 500. They function great if you take your time cycling them. The slugs are not all that powerful will shoot straight not more than50,60 feet. The buck and shot shells a little better but not much. The guy I talked to at the company at that time said that there was some exported to Canada years a go but non lately. And the only way now would be to import a pallet of them. Meaning licensing brokering shipping and distribution big cash lay out in a nut shell they are cool but not that cool.

It shouldn't be too hard to work up some data and roll your own, trim down spent shells, load 'em light and crimp. anyone who has them, would you mind dissecting one and posting the load data?

Make your own. That is make your own my mossberg 500 and winchester defender brothers, Remington guys are left out in the cold on this one. You guns will not cycle these rounds. As to "why would someone run these?", I think I was getting 7 or 8 full power slugs in my short a§ 500 tube. Not bad. Would love to load up a 590a1 probably have around a dozen rounds to send down range. Hmm bakers dozen, forgot about one in the pipe.

How do you get "full power" slugs into a 1 inch hull? lol

I prefer a 3 inch slug in my bush gun thank you. You're really only going to get one shot anyway, two if you are supremely lucky.

(if you are thinking home defense...which is a bit of an oxymoron here in Kanuckistan, I would think shot is better to keep the bulk of projectiles inside your own house)
