Cz 858-2

I wont buy any until they get back down to that 600 or 700 dollar level. That's what I was saying ,the new price seems to be 900 , I figure its the monopoly factor, which makes me kind of sick in terms of CSA and not want to ever buy anything from them. Unless someone else can explain why all of a sudden they are 200 dollars more?

CSA's where always more money than the CZ's were... remember that CSA has new receivers, not surplus like the CZ's. Recently, even more expensive CSA vz58's hit the market with the NR chrome lined barrel. One is in stock at a site sponsor for $1069.

Thats kind of a shame actually, I will not be buying one of these rifles then.

With all due respect, what the hell is happening in Ontario these days that you find particularly appealing?!?! lol

Both Ontario and Québec but only write Ontario in my Alias as I am not proud of being a Quebecer with what is going on ;)

I may of course be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that these Wolverine shipments were deemed not as "prohibited", per se, but rather "un-importable", if that's even a word. Meaning, *no* official reason for the decision was ever provided.

I see. Ask Wolverine about his last 2 shipments of CZ858's that were deemed prohibited by the RCMP inspectors and why no more will be coming in to Canada.

Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Wolverine...I misunderstood. So they specifically told you they were "prohibited" ... Or that they simply were not going to permit them entry?

Thank-you.

I do not wish to add fuel to the fire but for the record:
I have had no communication from the RCMP reference my last two shipments of CZ858 rifles. CBSA detained (seized) my shipments and based on an RCMP examination and report from the RCMP to CBSA they (CBSA) informed me they were prohibited. Almost a year later I have been unable to obtain any report on my rifles, even through the access to information.

Lets say theoretically the CZ-858 goes from NR to Prohib or even Restricted and I own said rifle with only a PAL. Does this rifle become 'grandfathered'? And after the registry scrapped how will they know I have one?

AKA what Im asking is should I buy one ASAP :p

Of course you should buy one. Or three. If they ever get reclassified, and grandfathered, you're going to need an upgrade. You should have it anyway -- everyone should. (Same reason as the CZ 858: get 'em *while you're able*.

100% That both those are a no, to get a 12x because of what gun you own, had to happen 25 years ago. You can pretty much only inherit it now. As far as being restricted, I doubt they will hand you a restricted license because you own a gun thats restricted, kind of makes the course pointless, so no, they would make you go take the course.

Though I doubt they will reclassify it, as it has been pointed out about 52 times on this thread, it will be like other guns, they will just stop importing it. But the whole "Oh, its becoming illegal, I better buy one!" Well, to that I would say "Just go buy an AK-47 if you want a gun your not allowed to own that's just going to be a safe queen" IF I owned one, I surely wouldnt give it up, but no idea why people want to buy one in the thought that it will be unlawful to own.

But no, you wont be grandfathered into any license, that's a promise.

You didn't understand my question.

I DO NOT want an illegal gun. Thats why I asked the question.

My question was, if it gets reclassified to a prohib I will never be able to get a 12x, so I will never be able to buy this rifle. So my question was if it does get reclassified, and I own it, will it be taken away or can I keep it with my current PAL. rPAL is easy to get so I dont care if it goes to restricted.

EDIT: But apparently it wont get reclassified, so I dont care anymore lol, ill buy it when I have the time and money.

This is what your post said, so let me make this easy for you and show you exactly what I was answering to.

Again, you guys are asking questions that there are no answers for right now. CBSA and RCMP didn't cooperate with Wolverine and left him in the dark. Restricted? Prohib? Grandfathered? Nothing? You guys are just guessing and will not know until something actually happens... possibility that nothing will happen.

Lets all relax and stay calm till we hear the word ok! Till then enjoy your rifle, I tend to enjoy mine, it's a sick 200 yard rifle now that I have it mounted with an aimpoint and a g33 magnifier.

I think here's the problem. I'm part of a new generation of shooters. (In a sense, no one to teach yet my mother & grandfather owned. Had a few pellet guns as a teen). I gained my interest in firearms through my own pursuits and pursued my PAL through my own accord. (Just lucky the inherited firearms are in the family yet)

I want to stand up.
I'm ready to stand up.
Where's the problem?

I wish to stand with others. If I stand alone I'm done for.
BC financial considerations aside, I'd love nothing more than to travel to Ottawa and stand with 1000 fellow responsible firearm owners and demand our rights be respected secured for the future by being written into the constitution.

Here's the problem;

I figure the majority of us fall into the following;

1) We believe in responsibility of our own actions
2) We simply want to enjoy our hobby
3) We really just want to be left alone to enjoy #2

#3 is the killer. I am far from a perfect person yet believe in morals and PRIVACY.

I've often thought I could do better than even our own city council. I would love to run for local council yet do I want my face plastered all over the media with the bad decisions I've made? Nothing is private when you run for government.

Vancouver Island I feel is unofficially accepting of firearms ownership, though as I picked up a box of .223 I was present while a local Canadian Tire employee converted a fence sitter into an Anti as he described how he'd rather be shot with a 30-06 instead of a .223 which was a '.22 on crack cocaine' because of how quick it would be. (Where do they find these guys?) Seems like this would be an excellent place to start a movement towards personal rights. I've had enough personal (and unnerving) encounters with wildlife to believe in a wilderness carry permit for those who would wish one. It seems as though people believe our area to be an NDP voting welfare pool, yet I've met more outdoors-men in my time after coming back (lived in Alberta for a stretch) than I would have believed.

We all just want the opportunity to work hard and live freely.

Maybe I should run for council, Lol.

Instead of ranting, I think good things will be available in the future (Sorry to post from another sponsor but these guys are at the center of the situation - Posted in October):

We have no plans to import any more CZ 858 rifles.

No photos of the CZ 958 just yet, I suspect we are at least 9 months away from seeing it available for sale. I will post details ASAP

You won't find pictures of the CZ958 as it is a new design between Wolverine and CZ, this is being designed for us here in Canada. You just have to be patient and when all the details are worked out I am sure Mr. Wolverine will drop some crumbs to keep your interest peeked. From what I've seen I don't think you'll be disappointed. :stirthepot2:

If anyone wants a CZ858, check the EE. However, some are starting to gouge - new EE ad only asking $3000 :runaway: :

Canada Ammo gets my respect and $$ for letting the posts stay. The dealers that edit, delete and modify posts on their threads will not be getting any of my $$$.
