Shorten PAL Approval Times

Agreed for me personally is not the time the your stuff is in there it's the overall process. I first thought about getting a license in July. Paid and did the course in September waited until october to get the course report.
Emailed the end of October and it was approved in december. That's almost 5 months all together.
Now the next fight has to be the 5 mag BS...I want to become an active member of the cause. I'm reading and get informed as much as possible. So if you have any lecture you could share would be great!

Thanks,

Sid

My opinion of course, but the entire process has been quick and painless. Had great people to deal with when I called in and it seemed to go as smooth as I wanted it to.

Call tomorrow and have them transfer you to Ontario CFO. Sorry don't know the ext. if you have an hour look through some previous posts. It's in there somewhere.

So all is done, interviews for myself and references, since at least 2 weeks. I call the CFC today and they tell me the Ontario CFO has all my paperwork for approval??? Anyone knows how much longer this is gonna take??? Getting very impatient with this process...

Click on the link to make sure everything is going according to plan. If it says your license has been issued, it should take less than 2 weeks. Of course, stranger things have happened, but it will give you a rough idea of where everything is at.

Define quick? Parlament intended it to take the mandatory waiting period only.. so beyond that is more unacceptable delays and BS from the CFC / Gov etc... esp in Bantario

Mine was 8 days over the 45 waiting period. I think that's pretty good turnaround. Can't speak for other Provinces and how they do things, but Saskatchewan was fine.

Called the Ontario CFO this morning, turns out there was an issue with my middle names... Someone mixed the order my middle names are written down on my passport vs my birth certificate... Oh no! I was therefore 2 different guys....
Anyways things are fixed and I have now a liscence...
Applied 23 Sept 2013...

See what I mean....There are people who sent in their RPAL's a month and a half after I did, in the same city, and have already received theirs. What is going on here? I called today and apparently this time around they are not able to transfer me the Saskatchewan CFO Office I guess. The lady I spoke to today told me the new wait times are closer to 6 months! Wait Whaaaaat? There is a different story from the call centre in New Brunswick (I think that is where she said she was) every time I call there! Plus she said I cannot talk to the lady who is handling my file...but yet all the other people I talked to said I could! What should I do? Any suggestions? Or do I just play this stupid waiting game? This is getting very discouraging! Maybe I'll take up another hobby!

P.s. Congrats to everyone who received theirs!! :)

WTF??? I suggest raising hell with your MPP etc etc... and GB... (which everyone should be doing of course)

45 days is the expected turnaround time. Sorry if I stated it wrong.

According to whom? if it's the CFO they are full of ####.. the CFC same thing.. the way it was laid out was to have things "quickly and efficiently processed" which is anything but what they are doing.

and no apologies necessary :)

Just stating the facts so others know them instead of the BS excuses etc etc spewed by the CFOs/CFC

I take it you're in Regina. If you have time, just go over to the head office on Hamilton St. Maybe they can help you.

I'm just going by the website. I guess maybe I just got lucky or something. Hopefully everything works out for those that are still waiting.

Our service standards to process a complete and accurate application are:

30 days for a registration application.

If you have not received information concerning your application within those time frames, please call 1-800-731-4000 and one of our client representatives will check the reason for the delay.

Finallllllllllllllllllllllllly! I bugged them enough someone called me back. The lady who called me back was awesome on the phone. She explained everything to me. And APPROVED my license! The reason being was the when they ran my name an assault charge from the past came up which I had dealt with and was thrown out of court! So because it hasn't been 5 years, it comes up even though I don't actually have a criminal record! Anyways..thanks for all the info everyone! Hope to meet some new people out there at the ranges in Regina!

Cheers!
