Shorten PAL Approval Times

Hey all,

Just wondering if you guys could let me know how concerned I should be. I did my restricted and non-restricted course during the last weekend of July 2013. I sent in my application right away. Online, it shows my application received on August 6. My references were called almost two months ago, my credit card charged in the middle of August. I got a letter to call them at the beginning of November, which I did right away. I called on November 26 for a status update and the lady said it's been sent to the CFO in BC as "standard practice". Online, it still says that my application has completed initial processing. More than anything, I'm extremely annoyed.

Raise hell with your MP / MPP for starters.. as well as with the CFO and document everything..

this is yet another example of the BS pulled by the CFO's

Hi ssg8519,

I'd call 1-800-731-4000, and ask the agent for the extension to the BC CFO. (or search on this thread, I'm sure it's been posted here before)
Call the BC CFO and check what the situation is with them.

Ontario RPAL in 42 days

I just received my RPAL card in the mail. :dancingbanana: From reception by the CFC (Oct 30th) to card in hand (Dec 11th) in Ontario, it's 42 days. It was issued on Dec 3rd (34 days), but I understand they only mail them out on Fridays. I called in to do my interview and I got my references to call in the same day.

My second reference finally got to do his interview today checked the status right after "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-40000" so from mailing Oct 22 to today is 51 days, now just to wait by the mail box.

Apparently that is not true.. nor is it true they are only printed one day a week. It might have been at one time however but according to the senior CFC staff it is not the case.

Anyone having issues with the RCMP website? I can't seem to get past the "Submit your security questions" page. I suspect its a browser related issue as Chrome and IE10 reproduce the same hang. I have already called in and done my interview, references are calling this week. Thanks to the OP for the advice! I sent off my PAL application on Nov 4th, hoping to get it before 2014.

Ya you have to run IE in 7 or 8 mode

For anyone having the same issue as myself and running IE 10 you can go into developer tools and run IE10 in compatibility IE7 mode. This worked for me, and saved my resorting to using an older machine. I'm sure this has been mentioned already but figured I'd post it anyway.

Step1: Open IE10
Step2: Press "F12" to open the developer window at the bottom of the screen.
Step3: Select IE7 from the "Browser Mode" toolbar
Step4: Load the RCMP page

Happy hunting!

Just had a spare time between 9h and 5h to call in and guess what?

"We are currently experiencing system problems, please try again later" and their website is also down.

Yeah no problem it's not like I'm working between 9h and 5h, I have plenty of time to call you back later.
