Your best ever rifle for trigger/action combination ?

Fully agreed, Kimber. Well accept for the part of having Tikkas anywhere near my safe ;)

That Tikka T3 in the safe right now is not mine, I swear!
I'm doing some load development with it for a good friend who's brother is a member here and can back me up on my claim.
Sh$tty part is it just happens to be a T3 lite chambered in 300WSM. Load development is gonna hurt.
And here I was under the impression that a Tikka groups one-holers with the first box of factory ammo you ever try! That'll teach me :p

Most all my pre-1980s Rem 700's were not bad from the box. I would clean and adjust them and they worked just dandy. Same with my early Winchester M70's.
Expecting ultra function from the box without at least inspecting, cleaning & testing for function is just not in my book.

for me it is a bit of a toss up, for semi auto I have not had a better trigger or better shooting for that matter rifle than the swiss arms sniper with it's factory adjustable trigger.

Hunting bolt action rifle, tough to beat the smoothness of my Sauer 202 outback and the single set trigger is about as good as it gets.

Tactical/long range rifle, my vote goes to desert tactical arms and a close second the sako TRG adjustable trigger

just my opinions.

I have had a win. 70 in .264 win mag for a huge pile of years. It has a scary light trigger and i have used it to kill just about all the legal big game in Alberta. And some coyotes, grouse and a ptarmigan. I would have said it was my best trigger action rifle (though a Rem 788 in .243 would be right on its heals).

Then I recently bought a CZ 527 Lux in .222 with a singe set trigger. I haven't killed with it yet but I usually take it out when ever I go out to shoot any rifle, just because I love to shoot it so much.

And it looks so nice!!!

Honorable mention goes to this HVA 456 I owned briefly. Smoooth action and although the trigger was slightly heavy for my taste it broke clean everytime.

Factory sporter- Tikka 595
Factory rimfire - Any Anshutz
Custom centerfire- RPA action and trigger I've had 3 -the perfect centerfire trigger
Custom centerfire cast bullet - Allan Hall action and trigger
Factory centerfire pistol - Wilson combat
Factory rimfire pistol - Pardini SP

My BSA CF2 has by far the best trigger of anything I've owned, but while its action is nothing to complain of it is slow and clunky compared to my Lee Enfield No.4s and No.5s. Of course their triggers can't compare to the BSA's, but one of them, a Long Branch No.4Mk.1*, had been tuned for DCRA Service Rifle "B" competition for a previous owner, and the combination of the LE action with that trigger work made it distinctly the best I have had.

I'm way off base her. I became friends with the lat David Gentry and he built me a &RM mag on a LH too action. The barrel was a Douglas air quake. He modified the factory trigger to a a 3lever design that broke cleanly # 18 Oz The rifle used an air gauge douglas That would push 150 gr @ 3445. With moderate case life. At the time At the time 3-5 round case life was considered acceptable 150 averaged 3445 fps. with the match grade chambers. People Call BS! So be ir Brass life was about 4 rounds. He modified th Rem trigger to a 3 lever design of his own design. Awesome rifle would .It was stolen when I went in for surgery
Unfortunately when I went in to have it replaced I could not get the performance replaced But 160s @ 3100 are OK. I would like to find that original Gentry Rifle.

so be it
