M38 Mosins... Here they come!

As I have had issues with canada post numerous times in the past, I went to the local office to complain and was told that unless the package requires a signature, regardless of the service being used (xpress, priority, etc) the mail man does NOT have to even attempt a door knock.

My mailman has a nasty habit of scanning items as attempted delivery as soon as he picks them up from the post office in the morning, then not even taking them on the rout with him. I often called in to the post office the mornings that I knew i have delivers coming and told them to make sure he took the package out with him as I would be home all day ready to accept it. I am pretty sure the guy hates me, but I get my packages...

Mine is a 1942 Izzy, Nice bore and a proper M38 stock, Lined out and rematched magazine floor plate. Not the 1940 Tula another gent on here got but I'm happy!

Got mine today, its a 1941 in a m38 stock, awesome condition, not counter bored and doesnt seem to have the ugly shellac i am very happy and i never though it was going to be so tiny haha

I think i have bad luck though, when ever i buy myself a gun something bad always happens, today i got my gun and today someone hit my car while i was in at work :( noting saids merry xmas like have your bumper hanging down (never left a note or notting )

Weimajack sent mine out Friday via Canada Post, and I got it today (Monday). As per usual, beautiful piece from him!

The trick is to have 2 or 3 packages coming every week. Its like Christmas every second day and one doesn't get impatient when there is always something to open :)

Got a 1943 izzy in an m44 stock... barrel is nice condition but stock and magazine are a little beat up and rusty, I never said anything in comments regarding picking a gun so I think I got the #### of the litter... ah well I plan on shooting it not hanging it anyways

A day and a half to go and still not opened! Might even wrap it and put it under the tree. This is truly brutal!

What if it is the wrong gun?

What if its rusty??

What if water got into the package and if you dont open it soon it will start to rust???

Open it.... come on you know you want too :p

Took the wood off of mine and its pitted everywhere the metal touches wood. And it seem like it was reblued over the pitting... Must of seen some action ( I hope )

mine as well, but it wasn't reblued over.. just rust

i'm not disappointed, just was hoping i'd luck out and get a super nice one, but for this price point you can't complain really, i'm sure once i shoot it i'll have a big ass grin on my face

judging by the stock, it has lots of gouges in it, and scrapes, would it be safe to assume it's seen some action?

also, never seen a mosin before.. does anyone know why there would be a chunk cut out of an m44 stock and replaced about half way down the barrel? is this what they did for repair or is this some kind of indication of sniper model or something (excuse me if it's a dumb question never had a mosin before)?

My gun is in nice shape overall, good metal good wood some dings but meh, good bore as well.

The bolt is sloppy though, the bolt head tends to hang up if you close the action relatively slow, it kinks upwards and gets jammed on one of the cutouts in the side of chamber.

I'll have to see how it cycles with cartridges in there but as is it's finicky at best, just needs some tough love. My two m91/30's on the other hand are tight and smooth like butter.

Anyway, here's pics:
