Where did you get the hammer shotgun?
Yup, that Wyatt Earp model has been calling my name for a while as well.
So who has a cheap "cowboy action" .357 rifle and 12ga shotgun on sale right now? Just picked up a pair of revolvers so need to complete the ensemble. Disappointed to hear 20 ga not being recommended as I was hoping to go 20 ga but if 12 ga is what is best, then so be it.
Pietta .357 cal 5 1/2 bbl from Marstar. Pretty good deal from what I have ascertained from surfing reviews online. I'm not looking for anything super fancy, just want to get involved this coming year.
How do you like your pietta millenium?
I haven't even received them yet, still being "processed". I've had a Ruger .22/.22mag new model for many years and a single holster but cowboy action appears to require two heavier revolvers so I went for a lower cost option with the Pietta's. I'm not really into the competitive aspect, just the fun. I have a .444 Marlin but that doesn't appear to cut it so might get a 1894C.
Yes, bought on-line from Marstar. My Ruger is 5 1/2 so I'm used to that length and I think 4 3/4 is too short and 7 1/2 is too long so 5 1/2 is just right (Goldilocks, lol).
BTW, these Pietta's do not have the transfer bar that my Ruger has, so only good to load 5 rounds with hammer down on empty chamber. Purists like that but frankly I like the transfer bar conceptually. Some say the transfer bar can cause light primer strikes but who knows.
I gave the EE a quick skim but too $$$ for me I think on that Henry.
I'm only 1/2 hour due East from your neck of the woods.
