Must.... Not..... Make.... Wet.... Cat.... Joke.......... might break the rules my self :p

I was going to try this over the holidays but use the crayon. Guess a lot of kids are colouring right now cause I couldn't find a single white crayon in the whole city.

What about the white crayons they sell, or use to anyway, at Canadian Tire for coloring the raised white letters and whitewalls on tires. My husband has one in his tool box, he uses it for writing the diameter of the tires for his stock car so he can adjust the stagger. It stays on pretty well but comes off easy enough. Should be the same as crayon, but seems softer, more greasy. May get in letters better. Man, we are going to have this down to a science. I do tole painting, I wonder what my acrylic paints would be like. They are water based, so not so sure. Time to get the old rifle out again to experiment. I could probably get away with something more durable on stainless because there is no finish to hurt when you take of the excess.

This is so cool, like hangin' out with my homegirls. Are we BFF's now. LOL. Just kidding. I could not resist. Hey,you feel strange? Never thought I would be talking about nail polish to a bunch of dudes. From now on, we refer to it as paint, agreed?

Haha, I can settle with paint!

After playing around with a couple colours this evening, I found the white looks best. I tried laying down the white as a base as was suggested previously, but when I tried the other colours, bright yellow and a bright green, they did not look good at all. The white is very sharp looking though. At least the yellow won't go to waste as the wife has claimed it, haha.

I prefer this method over any paints as it is semi-permanent and comes off quite easily.

I will have to try the crayon method with another gun to see how that works.

ok...., did it with nail polish....edit : paint ;) did not find tan polish so I've decided to go white :

I used the nail polish technique on my 93R just to brighten up the safety. I may do the opposite of this and use black paint on my GSG 1911 to cover up the amount of white print on the slide.

Ive used whiteout before, but it isn't real durable in the long run, but probably better than a crayon.

Got a little carried away with the pink paint.

The paint in the serrations looks rough but it is the metal itself. Might try a couple of coats to level it out abit. You don't notice it from a few feet away.

Look nice.

Hmmmm ... a Girsan with beautiful Beretta grips.....)
