300 aac blackout

Are you going to tell us what bullet weight? How about if you are using a bolt gun or a semi auto?
I've only reloaded 300BLK for my AR and the only powder I use for subsonic is AA1680.

Sorry should have been a bit more specific, AR 15, pistol length gas system 1:8 twist 7.5" barrel. As for projectiles I've got 150, 155, 168 and 200gr pills looking for some of the lighter stuff but just seeing if what I have on hand will work. As for powder I just happen to have a bunch of N320, ideally I would use AA1680 or Lil gun but I haven't had time to find any. Bolt gun in the works but not in the immediate future.

I'll trade you a pound of Lil Gun for a pound of N320. :D

I'm hoping to get out to the range on Friday if the weather cooperates. I'll be doing some more testing and will post results.
I have a few different loads to test.

What cheap pills are you guys using for general plinking?

225 grain dual diameter bore riders..........not cheap but they free up the case capacity for powder and still load out to maximum magazine length

Two concerns with these.

1. Do they feed in an AR?

2. Don't they need to be seated very short to avoid running in to the lands .... which would reduce powder capacity?

They look fricken nasty. Where'd you get them?

the are dual caliber........the nose is .300 so it does not contact the rifling, the base is .308, They should fed in a AR with out a issue, you can test them for me......I have them loaded to a COAL of 2.900 right now for a bolt rifle, that gives me 10 thou jump. The base of the bullet is pretty much at the neck/shoulder junction so I can achieve maximum case capacity with lower pressure. I'll be shooting them again tomorrow to figure out which powder shows the most promise and then I'll start shooting them over the crony to see what the real world results are before the pressure signs shut us down........

I use Hornady 110gr V-max or Remington 150gr FMJ-BT. When I find some cheaper I'll try those.
I was thinking of paying my buddy for some of his lead cast rounds to try but I like jacketed bullets.

Ahh. Interesting.

Try 6.0gr Trailboss. That should fit in the case and is stupid quiet.

I'm thinking cheap plated 150gr spritzers would be the way to go. All the benefits of cast without the problems.

I did that......been there, started low and worked up or vise versa....ended up spending more time on the bullet puller then I did the trigger.....not enough powder to get the bullet out of the barrel. I am looking for accuracy at both ends of the scale, sonic and sub sonic.......If I want to shoot bug holes I have 6ppc's 6br's and 30br's........but this little case has got me intrigued.......

Todays range visit, 50 yards from bench (1-4X scope)

19gr A1680, 150gr, 2.190 AOL.

I am happy with this 9" 300blk fire breathing dragon.

If this translates to 2-3" groups at 100 thats good enough for me.

I managed to get subs to bho with an old B&H mag i found, none of the other mags (pmag,lar15) would bho with 11.5gr of A1680 and 208gr match.

The best sub group i managed was 1.1" at 50 yards.
