I'm shedding a few tears.................for happiness! Don't blame it on Canada post, it's a POS Savage.

Gotta love how parcels are treated en-route regardless who's the carrier. On the flip-side, once the claim goes through a nice Boyds replacement stock would bode well for it.

Millions would disagree. I have no opinion strong enough to argue, regarding the axis, but my 24" heavy barreled model 10 in .308 will probably out shoot anything at the same price. Still, opinions vary, and I care little about those that exhibit hatred beyond reason.
Cheers!

Well said.

This is really good to know.
One good tumble out in the sticks and it will fit in your
back pack.
I wonder if poi will change?

Hello Boyd's............

One person that may be on a budget and was about to get into hunting may have just had a terrible experience with their first firearm and all they can afford.... My first gun was an 870 express and I still have it and am now on stock set number 3 because I won't let it go for sentimental reasons... While I share your love of good firearms I don't think dismissing someone's rifle being demolished thanks to CP is a good way to encourage hunting or gun ownership....

It is definitely a weak point in the design.

Still, for $330 find me a better modern hunting rifle....

+1

I've seen more Axis' in various calibers shoot extremely well over the last year at my Club. Kudos to Savage for offering an entry level unit that shoots well out of the box & allows new people into the sport without having to spend big $$ amounts.

Again, I don;t like them either... I am going to assume you weren't always a trophy hunter and didn't always shoot coopers and go on guided hunts... I don't deny your passion for the hunt Track... but we all started somewhere and to be honest, I don;t like savage either.... but out of the box the axis is a great shooter... my only advice is to ditch the glass because crap glass will render an accurate rifle useless...

LOL!! I never did go on a guided hunt but I was a professional big game guide for 8 years. My intent was not to be insensitive to people who are less fortunate or starting out hunting.;)

Fair enough.... I just hope this was not a young novice that saved for his first rifle..... I remember those days and how I would have felt.....

Geez. You should tell that to my 22-250 that still hasn't rendered my Axis useless. I'm the first to say that I don't trust the scope. But until it lets me down it's staying on the rifle.
