Very excited!!!!!!

Just a question for the more experienced precision shooters, as this is my first modern bolt gun.

What are some suggestions for a nice $500-$750 scope/rings combination? I've gone to the outdoors big box store and looked through a bunch but I would love to hear what you guys think.

Thanks,
Dan

I got a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50mm with the mildot reticle. MSRP on the scope was $600 and a good set of Leupold ring will be less than $100. There's your optics for under $700 :)

First impression on the rifle,

Very well built, lighter then I expected. Extra light stock. Barrel finish is perfect. Bolt action is precise and smooth. Very good butt pad, soft but firm (can't explain this better... lol) Box magazine clips and releases like a charm!
Can't wait to fire this new toy!

pictures please! when are you hitting the range with it?

How does the stock feel? Is it cheap and plasticky like the Axis, or is it beefy like the 700p? I know it's supposed to have an aluminum bedding block so it's just as good apparently.

They are different products! You cant compare a Remi stock with a savage stock! As for the Axis, I dont know... Dont own one and never handled one...
The stock on the 10 TR is very solid yet very light. And the aluminum bedding is adding to the rigidity.

This is not a toy rifle in any way, it's a 1000$ rifle that we just had the privilege to pay near half price!

Good quality, well built.

Haha, I know, apples and oranges...sort of. Well, the 10TR seems to have a lot of similarities to the 5R and some with the 700p. I've handled the Axis stock, and it feels really cheap. My buddy filled his with some sort of expanding foam or resin or something, and only after that did it feel solid. But then again, the Axis stock doesn't have the aluminum bedding. I guess I'll wait and see what it's like. None of the local gun shops around here have it, seems like the only dealers in Canada are SFRC, Frontier and Herron. The 700p is pretty heavy because of the barrel, but when I stripped it, the stock felt solid, but light. I'm guessing the Accustock will have a similar feel.

Anyway, looking forward to getting mine.

You got yours? I better call to see when ill get mine???

Well, since I'm local and was one of the first to order it, I drove the 15 minutes it takes me to get to the store and got it...

So nobody panic you'll get yours as Ryan stated.

Cheers!

Moar...moar pictures.....

By the way, are you planning on keeping your stickers on the stock? Most of the pics I’ve seen of the 10TR (I guess mostly ones in the USA?), owners have opted to keep the stickers on. Any particular reason for it?

For me, I found that I haven’t peeled the stickers (the rainguard sticker) off my Bushnell scopes for some reason. Not sure why either, but I haven’t done it yet...maybe just to keep it new looking?

My parents used to Saran wrap the tv and vcr remote controls to keep them new looking, haha, maybe it’s a habit I got from them....no, I don’t Saran wrap my rifles.....just my remote controls.

First WTB add popped up on EE for one of these. At least it's the first i've seen.

Bid as they might,
I'll be holding onto mine!
Now I just need my new VISA to show up so I can pay for it!
Don't give mine away, Ryan, I'm calling ASAP with the digits.
After that, it will show up when it arrives and not a moment sooner.
