2014 SHot Show: Bushmaster ACR DMR 18.5"

For anyone who wants to see the comparison next to a standard ACR:

Also, the stats say these way 8.75 lbs but I'd bet thats with the MOE handguard. With the quad rail on there it is much closer to a swiss arms kind of weight.

Separate option.

Well that's just stupid IMO.

Not you, of course ;)

But that the better way of running this DMR rig (long handguard + the further away the bipod = better stability and obviously less movement of your optic reticle due to the point of balance being as far away as possible) is an option to the customer who has to fork out more hard earn $$....I don't get it from a user's perspective. From a business perspective, they aren't a charitable gig so they want to make money..but still.

Nice piece of kit nonetheless.

well one thing is for sure. this DMR version sure as heck will not compete with the XCR as a NR run and gun. Question is... do I need another benchtop gun?!

Just remember that the rifle is made for US clients but we get lucky due to the barrel length.

These ones are made in the AAC factory, so you know you'll be getting a quality, accurate rifle.

"• 18.5” stainless, MELONITE®-treated barrel"

Can anyone tell me what is the benefit of this finish compare to the cold hammer forged barrel or chrome line barrel?

Melonite is just the coating. It is the same #### that Glock uses to treat their slides if I recall correctly.

Also, cold hammer forging is a construction process and has no bearing on the material or the barrel being chrome lined.

Here we go, this is what I want to know about. I know it is still early in the report, but could you report more on items like these? By that I mean more potential non restricted for Canada. Its nice to see more options for us instead of a "new" AR that is going to be restricted or an AR that has a suppressor which we also can't have fun with.

Excellent point - thanks for posting this comment.

More interested in just the barrel. Will they offer it seperate as the ACR has a quick change barrel system?

Could see that being a popular option to non restrict current ACR rifles.
