First and last dealing with Marstar!

Maybe they were waiting for all the items in your order to be in before shipping it out?… Who knows but what I do know is that I ordered an NcStar scope with laser on a mount. It was packaged carefully and the order was complete and arrived within two weeks. Couldn't ask for anything more! Not sure why you are so frustrated with them??? Chill out!!!

This thread is still going? One dude didn't get some stuff he ordered real fast. So that dude got bummed out and blasted a rant here. He said his piece let this silly thread fade away

It's all a matter of preference and availability, if you don't mind waiting along time (my one order with marstar took 7 business days to process and ship) that fine,Think that is a bit too much but i was OK with waiting that time, shipping withing 2 days of order is pretty much the standard (excluding weekends duh) as time goes on people will have to adjust to the standards or crumble but that is a semi lon way away i believe as someone mentioned due to the different standards we were raised with, the older folks have t adjust aswell (no offense)

I placed a $1400 order with Marstar on January 3rd. I received a bunch of repetitive 'confirmation' emails which never mentioned anything about shipping times etc.

I didn't hear anything from them so I called in today, 2 weeks later, to be told that my package will be 'rushed' out for shipping on Friday.

Had I known Marstar usually takes this long to process and ship an order I would have taken my business elsewhere.

I hope that this quality of service - or lack thereof, isn't a reflection of their quality of products, however, I can only imagine this is the case.

Awwwwww muffin. Don't get all pissy! Welcome to mail order! It only took 6 months to get Strikehold gun lube shipped from the U.S. As far as quality of product, Marstar sell Norinco and my M305 is, by far, the least accurate POS that I own. Have fun, but stay classy;)

Stuff didn't show up as fast as you thought it should....

you didn't get enough emails....

I dont understand the piling on directed at the OP. If someone is willing to spend $1400 and get poor communication and shipping..move along with the herd. He feels communication and shipping should be better. He spent the money and feels he is entitled to better. If everyone is willing to accept this poor performance, it will not improve. Busy times of the year and sales are no excuse. Hire more staff or dont have the sale.

I am commenting on this transaction only, which because i know very little about it, i should not. In my opinion the transaction pales to the poor response to the OP in this forum. He may be complaining about this transaction, but he was also warning fellow members about poor performance from a vendor. If you dont want to heed the warning...move along but dont pile on.

NO, no, no! This thread has had some comedy-gold in it.
Did you not see grumpy kitty? Erhmagerd girl?

(No disrespect to the OP intended even though I don't entirely share his point of view - I just like the comedy)

All praise for Marstar coming from big spenders.... Laugh2

OP would like customer service, and still... we do not have meaningful answer on behalf of Marstar, other than possibly an employee signing into John's account and not really addressing any issues here.

New to ordering online from gun retailers probably. In the rest of the world, for everything else, ordering online doesn't take two weeks to ship. If I order a gun from you in the EE and you take two weeks to ship, you're getting negative feedback - as you should receive. And as this guy just did for Marstar. There's no excuse for this - you're selling stuff online, get it shipped. "I'm busy" is a weak excuse.

The last two orders I bought from TradeExCanada, they shipped same/next day and I received it the day after that. Just like it's supposed to be.

hey, everyone screws up. If so, address it. If you're can't do your job routinely, then expect to get called on it publicly. It's one reason why I won't ever ever buy from Canada ammo. I've seen too many threads (many deleted) that complain about long wait times. I order online, the reasonable expectation is that you're shipping within 24 hours. I don't care if YOU choose to wait, the rest of the world chooses not to AND it's not normal behavior - it's poor customer service in any industry even if it's commonplace in gun retailers. You're too busy to put in some overtime to sell what you're selling, expect to get called on it publicly.

I've no idea if that's Marstar or not. I do know it's commonplace in this space, and that there's lots of folks that seem to be willing to defend this kind of inexcusable behaviour in a business.

I am not defendig the long shipping delays, we ran some specials,we closed for holidays which were well deserved by the staff from Dec 23rd to Jan 3rd.... We had several hundred orders waiting when e reopened, plus the regular flow of incoming orders.... SIMPLY volume....
But then again you seem to be the marketing expert so please share your knowledge and expertise, we pay well for proven ideas....

I appreciate the comparison to Tradex, they are good people.... But please do not compare our volume with theirs.... learn you facts before making rash statements

I didn;t read all the way through,, to many, so I will add mine! ;0) OP. If you order from amazon etc. their flow is pretty much regular so they have bodies on staff to handle the flow however with both MARSTAR and canam, they put a special on once in a while so they can't have extra staff on to handle 3-4 days backup and then lay them off! I think though that you may have fallen through the cracks,, it happens and will be fixed. I really like ordering online for a number of reasons, I don't have to spend $10-$20 bucks on gas going around looking for what I neeed,, more selection usually on line,, better prices on line, especially in my neck of the woods, I click the button and go about my business, a knock comes on the door and my product is delivered! Bad part, the wait,, you can't see the product as well or feel and touch although that only count in guns and girls!! I only get about 8-9 days a month at home so while on the road I can order and search on line for more ways to spend my paycheck, like my Yugo 59/66 John brought in, can't get something like that local and if I could it would be out of my price range. Or the 1000 rnds of .45acp and a norc .45 for $499 from another dealer on cgn, the local shops wouldn't even believe that was true! I have a limited amount of time to shop, this makes it easier and if sometimes because of a great deal or the screw up, it takes a while, I am ok with that!
Due to the fact that there are thousands of Marstars customers on this site along with the other dealers, when someone has a problem, everyone knows about it, the lgs might have a couple people in the store when anyone rants so a problem of ordering and not getting it quick, happens locally too, just isn't publicized near as much. Anyway it is what it is, and may not be for the OP, his or her choice but I cannot stay away, to many good deals. Perhaps when I get to the age where I won't buy green banana's cause I may not be around to eat them, I will reconsider buying online! Rant over, need a nap!

Well they do answer their phones, and do respond to emails but my overall impression of them is poor.

I bought one firearm, ~$3200 from them, and it will be the last thing I ever buy from them.

There are much better sponsors on this site than Marstar.

What was the issue ??
John

I only made one order from marstar, and it was my last. They "forgot" to send 3 cases of ammo and when I asked them wtf it was "oh sorry, we'll send it when we get more cuz now we're out." And the gun I got turned out to be ####ed. Didn't even bother addressing it with them based on their initial response......

I've probably purchased from the majority of major sponsors on this board and marstars the only one I won't order from again.

May I have your name and order number so I can research this issue.... send to john@marstar.ca

Well I've been waiting 35 days for a vz 58 parts kit maybe it will show up one day. If you want fast shipping try GP Tactical. I placed an order at 10pm and it was at my door less than 48 hours later.

You were advised of the delay, were you not ?
So what is the issue ?
John
