OK, I now have my H&R .223 Rem SB2 Ultra Hunter, with 22" barrel, in hand. The serial number says it's a 2005 manufacture, and the barrel is serial number matched to the frame. I want to be 100% sure of the rate of twist, before buying any ammo. I think it's 1 in 12, which "calls for" 55 gr max. If it's 1 in 9, it would "want" 55 gr as a minimum. I have done a lot of looking online, and it looks like Marlin started making the barrels for these in 2007, and switched to 1 in 9. Like I said, I want to be sure, so does anyone know how to confirm. The H&R website refers to the Graybeard forums, but I still can't confirm there.
