no its not mine haha

Got my kit a month ago. Then picked up a slightly rusted MK4-1* for $75.00 with mag and some ammo. First tug in the vice and barrel was off. Then I stripped receiver and am in the middle of polishing it. A Boyds stock is on the way. Cycles well and everything seems to fit so another two weeks and BANG. Anyone else progressing favourably?

Shell Shucker, mine doesn't shoot worth beans - 12" patterns at 50 yards. I've swapped scopes and made sure everything is solid, and she's still spraying slugs all over the county. I am reasonably confident I don't suck that badly. :)

It could be the inexpensive ammo I'm using. Have you developed a load that works well for you?

its a match barrel, even with inexpensive ammo, it should perform way better than that

what is your headspace?

I have been using 185-200 gr DRG hard cast SWC bullets and bullseye powder with decent results, without a scope

I use 200 gr. hardcast lead on top of 8.0 gr. of Blue Dot and it shoots around an inch or so at 25 yds.
I also use 5.4 gr. of Trail Boss and get similar results. I got the most accuracy so far with American Eagle
230 gr. hardball factory stuff. I'm going to get a 230 gr. RN mould and work up some loads.

Have you checked the muzzle crown for concentricity and is the fore end bedded for 2" in front of the receiver & barrel free floated? An adjustable trigger like the Huber is a must on one of these short guns.
:)

If, what appears to be 3" at 25 yards and 8" at 50 yards from a match barreled rifle, is your definition of "decent" accuracy I would hate to see your definition of "poor" accuracy.

uh and hes back to being an ass, that sure didnt last long.
do better with your custom 45 enfield that you built (oh right...) or take a hike.

This was done @ 25, with regular 230-grain FMJ Winchester white-box, "benched" loosely on a range-bag......

Zeroed the scope in the "nasal area" (and the one shot to the left of the nasal cavity), then started in on each of the eyes...just to goof around and see if I could make a series of adjacent holes in the "eye socket area". I'm no great shot, but I could pretty easily put one bullet-hole right next to another.

3-9 x 40 scope.

How is that being an ass? If I were investing a significant chunk of change in a custom project I would expect it to shoot straight when all was said and done. I'm genuinely puzzled by his claim of "decent" accuracy when, I think most of us can agree, 8" at 50 yards from a rifle really isn't. A good handgun could accomplish that with a 5" barrel. These DeLisle-type clones genuinely interest me but not if the typical accuracy is as shown.

And since you brought it up, I apologized for ragging on people's new toy posts. Last I checked I'm still allowed to render an opinion that differs from yours, but next time I'll make sure to obtain your permission before posting.

I thought I had a solid scope-mount set-up, at first, but it quickly came loose....:(

Subsequently locked everything up real tight, and made sure the scope was truly parallel to the bore....then all was good and sugary sweetness.

3-9 x 40 scope.

That's givin' me a hankerin' to mount a scope on mine.(Especially for my aging eyes.)
Seeing as how my rifle is already drilled and tapped for a Weaver T-01 base, I'll get
one and put on a 1.5-4.5x scope to ring out some better longer distance plinking.

These little rifles are fun to shoot and hunt with, although they are a tad chunky.
