Thinking of getting an M1A Springfield Loaded Advice?

Maybe your are right but it is not very important, since the new ones are sub MOA rifles out of the box, they changed manufacturers but they kept the thight NM tolerances... JP.

JP you can screw a Krieger or Douglas match barrel onto a Norc receiver (or any other) and it will be "sub-moa" with the right handload as long as it was assembled by a good smith.

Where it matters is the quality of the barrel and who mated the parts (accurized the rifle). What I'm pointing out is, over the years the quality of the parts they are using has changed but the prices they are charging have not.

Reality of life, cheaper product, higher prices... JP.

How usgi parts can make it more accurate ?

Springfield is lifetime warranty :p

When did I say they make it more accurate? I did not, you must have missed my comment about match barrels making the difference.
It does make for a more reliable and better built rifle.

Is it going to matter taking your safe queen to the range? No. Is it going to matter when you drag it through the bush for days on end? Yes (not all of us are city slickers).

Yes they have a lifetime warranty. Do some research and you'll see this warranty gets used. Im simply providing the facts in response to incorrect statements that have been made in this thread. The "high end" and "best components available" comments are simply no longer true compared to the other US M14 style rifles available.

I have only been shooting these rifles since the late 90's so what could I possibly know about them. Its your money, do what you want with it.

A SA NM M1A even in today's condition, is still and awsome rifle, i appreciated shooting wiht it, accuracy is very good, operation is flawless and it is very iconic, i just ordered for my NM a brand new S&B 3X12X50 Zenith Flasdot reticle 7 for it, i think it deserve that good of a scope, at the end of the day if you are satisfied, it was a successfull day... JP.

Got a Casm gen ll on it but since the S&B is a heavier scope, i may upgrade to Casm steel mount ( from M-14 dealer) if necessairy, i am not using the ARMS 18 no more, it was causing some failures to eject, not enough open space to eject proprely... JP.

I just try to keep my money :) no big advantage to use USGI parts.

Thanks

J996 you know it's a losing battle when you start to bring facts, experience and common sense into an argument with a BrandBoy. Their brand power solutions will beat you down ever time.

An LRB would be a logical answer if you choose to spend 3K+ on an M-14. Would seem they are the only ones made as close to/and or exceeding the original tolerances, steel quality and heat treatment of the original USGI rifle. Or maybe a Nork with a USGI barrel and part's kit.:D

Smith Enterprise, Inc. (SEI) excels in this area

This method has served me well; Poly Tech receivers, SEI barrels and a mix of USGI, SEI, Poly Tech & Sadlak parts.

Where to get the CASM mount?

By the way.. There is a discount coupon that comes with the M1A loaded for Springfield accessories

Once you get your first NM M1A, all colors seem brighter... Lol... JP.

NM is a lost of money if you don't keep the wood style.

National match vs loaded, the difference is the glass bedded, NM spring guide, and gas system assembly. (hooded rear sight for target shooting)

I just think they are awsome rifles with their wood stock out of the box... In my book that is... JP.
