SU-16 stock parts? or suggest another NR .223

I will be getting my su 16 F next week.If any body could help with a few questions it would be apprieated .I have a local gun smith willing to install flash suppressor . Do the barrel need to be cut off any for this?where could I get a flash suppressor at?I see lots of different ones , will they all fit?Is there something also called a noise suppressor?Does more expensive mean better?The local gunsmith has a lathe but I don't think he has much experience with this rifle? I don't know if this matters or not.Last ? If I buy ar style stock and fore end will they install without having to modify anything? Thanks so much to anyone who can help.
 
First off it seems you are really green with guns. Asking about 223 and 5.56 should have been covered in your pal classes! Secondly, keltec guns have a forum called ktog. Thirdly, suppressors are prohibited and should have been covered in class. Please refer all your questions there and do more reading on our guns on the forum. Any and all info on the su16 is there!



Please send you gun to dlask. He has a rig set up to thread the barrel.
Our Su16 barrels are press fit and you can't remove the barrel from the receiver. I'd ask the shop just how many su16s they've threaded! It's not like a normal job!
 
First I am really green ,sorry.second the reason I asked about 223/5.56 was an ammo question.P&D in Edmonton told me to use only 223 ammo in Su16 F, That's what started this.I called Keltec in Florida and was told Su16F is chambered for 5.56.and there is a difference.Thirdly,I know silencers are illegal ,but I thought there might be something else besides a flash that looks similar.forthly Keltec forum is mostly American .Im canadian and prefer to stay with Canadian gun forum.Fifthly I seen a link on keltec forum where guy used dremle tool and installed his own flash hider,didn't look to complicated,just need right tools.And lastly if you don't like my post don't answer it.
 
I didn't know that ammo , modifications,optics, are all the same question,like I said I'm really green,sorry to have irritated you though..Only reason I'm asking in diff threads is that diff people answer them. Any way thanks to Google it's a flash hider I want.not a suppressor .lol Now I just need to know why that guy looked like he cut the top of his barrel off and crowned it then threaded it.Also the photo of the SU16FX in the Vault mag would have an 16 inch barrel since all the other ones shipped into Canada had 16 inch barrels. So wouldn't that make the hand guard a look a little to short? I really like the hand guard on Sayomans Su16 ,but don't know if I want to try and do the cuta and mods,would prefer something that is made to fit.

wish we could get the same su16 mods here that the yanks can get. otherwise I would have gone that route instead of waiting on my FX. Im sure I wont regret it once I have it in my hands tho :)
 
I talked to Chad at Keltec in Florida,and he told me I could order from their online store,just have to keep it under $100. Also brownells can ship also.
 
I am calling there after thanks.Ive seen two diff forends, one is 8 inch aluminum from Red Lion the other on Keltec sight looks about 6 inch polymer not sure which one would look best.

Yes Iron Eagle has the 81/2 aluminum forend it's $220 I believe . I also read something about Midway having some accessories for the su 16 ,I'm going to call them today .
 
keep us updated if you are able to get the red lion stuff or whatever you end up using. Id like to to know the total costs involved. rifle is 800, depending on what fore arm 70-200, then the cost of the ar stock conversion. Then add all the headaches of finding and shipping the stuff I dunno. Ive paid for my FX but the retailer said if I dont want to wait for it to arrive (at least 60 days) he will refund my money. Just keeping my options open.
 
Iron gun has the 8 1/2 aluminum hand guard $230 total. A few place has the stock and pistol grip $180 + tax + shipping,and they have 6 inch polymer for end.There are some pics on Keltec forum of SU 16 F with both hand guard side by side, I like the 8 1/2 hand guard much more. Flash suppressor $60 + txt and shipping. And it will cost me $30 to get the barrel threaded. The polymer for ends go for $g60......... Total $850 for the gun $200 for stock and pistol grip..$60 for the polymer hand guard...$100 for flash hider supplied and installed. $1200 do it your self with no optics. $1250 + Txs and shipping Su 16 FX with a apparently crappy holo. It is a bit of fooling around to get it all together yourself but I'm going to spend $ 60 I would have spent on polymer forend and buy the aluminum one from Ironeagle. So it will cost me $1370 Total for SU 16F with magpul stock and pistol grip...Redlion 8 1/2 inch aluminum hand guard. Flash hider. I had the Su 16 F x purchased from P&D for $1440 Total.
